Details

Sucralfate is a prescription medication used to help treat gastrointestinal (GI) ulcers. It can be used to help prevent gastrointestinal ulcers when giving aspirin or other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories). Considered a bandage for the intestinal tract, it provides a coating over ulcers in the GI tract, which helps prevent future damage. It treats ulcers of the esophagus, stomach and small intestine. Veterinarians may also use this medication to treat companion animals. Customers may receive this uncoated tablet under the name Carafate. We directly source prescription medications from manufacturers and wholesale distributors registered with the FDA and licensed by applicable state boards. Guaranteed genuine, and where applicable, backed by the manufacturer.

My dog Angie died. She had severe pancreatitis and died Oct 10th. She needed this medication and others but was too sick to recuperate.

it took too long to get the Rx as she was suffering from blockage!

The product had to be approved by my vet and then again by your vet. Too long of a time elapsed before dog received the needed medication

We were going to our vet for this prescription but were only able to get 30 pills at a time which only lasted us about 20 days, and recently we ran out while on vacation so we had to ration the doses for our dog which caused her to eat less and thus have less energy, so I was so excited to see it was available on Chewy and we were able to buy enough to last a few months and set up an auto-ship to save a little money and time and to ensure our Millie doesn't have to go without in between refills anymore. This stuff works great for her! We give it to her dissolved in 5-10 ml of water 3 times a day via an oral syringe and her appetite significantly increases when she is on this medication.

White pills are terrible, stick with the Pink Pills, Chewy!

We have to give our pup sucralfate to treat chronic acid reflux. The only way we have been able to successfully administer it is by dissolving it slightly and topping her food with it. The problem is that it only works when we get the pink pill. This product is shipped out from two possible suppliers. One supplier sends out a pink pill. When you get it wet, it expands slightly, into a paste. This one is easy to mix into pup's food, and she can't spit it out. The other supplier, Nostrum Laboratories, sends out a white pill. I have to do covert missions to get my dog to take this pill. You can't dissolve it into a paste, because it takes too much water for the whole pill to be affected. By the time you're able to get the whole pill dissolved, it's a liquid solution. I can't put that on my dog's food, because it just filters down to the bottom and she won't lick it up. But if I don't dissolve it completely, she spits the pill back out because she's able to. Chewy, PLEASE PLEASE PLEAAAAAASEEEE stick to just the pink pill! Or at least give customers the option for which one they prefer!! The white pill is wasted on us, because it's spit out anyways. The pink pill is the only thing that stands between my dog and her licking her lips for the entire day and begging for me to help her. For the love of all that is good, give me the pink!

Helps with pancreatitis

Our vet prescribed this for her pancreatitis. This along with her other medication helps relieve symptoms. It is also much less expensive than our veterinary hospital
