To kill fungus gnat larvae in the soil, water your plants with a "tea" made from Mosquito Bits. This product is harmless to pets.

While Mosquito Bits kill mosquito and fungus gnat larvae in their respective habitats, they are labeled for use in animal watering troughs, ponds, birdbaths, and other areas in which animals and pets will drink and bathe. This is also completely harmless to plants, fish, frogs, turtles and beneficial insects. They can be applied to water and soil used with edible plants, fruits and vegetables.

Can I use these in a pond stocked with koi and plants?

This product is suitable to use in standing water and is harmless to beneficial insects, pets, birds, fish, horses, livestock.

Can I spread this in my garden?

No, spreading the Mosquito Bits in a garden will not effect mosquitoes at all.  They are a larvicide that must be applied to standing water where there are mosquito larvae.  It will kill them quickly in the water, but does not effect adults.

I sprinkle these EVERYWHERE! I put them in the saucers under my pots, around where the gutters drain, under plants that stay really damp. It has helped knock down the mosquito population dramatically. At the beginning of summer, I also put small bowls of water out under shrubs with these in them to keep them from getting bad in the first place. It has really worked well! Just make sure you put them EVERYWHERE there is even a little standing water.

I used it in a small plant saucer for wildlife to drink out of and a pond-in-a-pot, and it has eliminated the mosquito larvae in both with just a few pellets sprinkled
