I nearly cried with joy when I squeezed the pump and the water began flowing fast and steady. Starting a vac in my shallow (3-6") mud turtle tank is so frustrating. This had a stronger pull than most too, so it picked up more gunk and made the water change quicker. The big downside to the short head and strong pull was that it picked up a lot more sand. Once I'm used to it, I'm sure it won't be a problem. Plus I had to move more quickly to get all the nooks and crannies. I usually just pull out all the plants (rooted on small driftwood so the turtle can push them around,) and any easy to grab rocks. I'm buying more for backup. 100% worth it for shallow water. Sir My Cousin Vincent Petite Feet approved of the quick change too, although he was angry it happened at all, as usual.
Pros: can’t beat the price on this little sucker. Worked well on my two 10 gallon tanks for their weekly cleaning. I like the filtering insert in the nozzle that catches bits and the siphon component that gets the flow going. Cons: you get what you pay for so I shouldn’t be too surprised that it didn’t last long. Bought it in December and it lost suction in April. I don’t mind buying another since it’s half the price of comparable vacuums. I also wish the tubing was a little longer. Because of that I have to put my collection bucket on a chair instead of the floor.
Didn't work as good as I would of liked sucked more water out not the yuck in the bottom
What’s not to like? It’s cheap and it works great! I use it for an 8 gallon Betta tank and a 20 gallon community tank. Makes maintenance so much easier.
I would say this sucks, but it literally doesn't. Broke the second time I used it.
I have not used it yet but it looks to be sturdy enough to do the job
It came packaged nicely and a day early. It was easy to use, and nothing was damaged or sucked into the tube that shouldn't have been. Sometimes water get trapped in the tube and when you pick it up it drips all over you, but anyone who owns an aquarium is going to get wet. Great product!
In my 5 gallon tank, this is a perfect gravel vaccuum
This little thing is actually pretty good worth the buy !!!!
Had to use this to drain my 10 gallon the other day. Works great!
