Are the small ones good for praying mantis
Answer by ChewySep 11, 2022
This food is excellent for reptile hatchlings and very small reptiles, such as dart frogs.

is the grain like stuff they come in safe for my beardie to eat? I try to shake all of the stuff off of the larva but was unable to get every little bit off.
Answer by ChewyApr 19, 2022
Per the manufacturer, it is recommended rinsing the Black Soldier Fly Larvae to get most of the substrate off. Some ingested won't harm your reptile but a lot or over a prolonged amount of time can cause long term issues.

will these larvae turn into flies?
Answer by ChewyJan 26, 2022
The larvae will turn black when there are pupating and about to turn into flies. The shelf-life of these grubs is at least 2 weeks when stored as instructed. If you want them to go dormant keep them at 55F which is warmer than a refrigerator.

Tiny, very little

I was really pleased with how quickly I have gotten my order of both small and large soldier flies. However the size large is like a medium and the small is like extra small. I will not be ordering these for my chameleons any longer. I have given both sizes a chance and it does not work for my chameleons. I recommend these for very small reptiles.
