So, I got 2 of the 28lb bags of this food and an 11 lb bag of another brand sent to me for my two fur babies. When it’s one bag in a box it’s usually fine, but not more than that. Chewy needs thicker boxes for heavy loads like dog food and/or tape around the center of the box, not just the seam. Could the delivery company be more gentle? Absolutely! Yet this issue, I believe, starts with how Chewy packs and ships. The important thing is I got all the items in my order, AND the kibble wasn’t pulverized. Usually my orders are fine, if not a little dinged; but this is not cool! I mention it because a problem can’t be addressed if it’s not brought to attention.
My Pitbull has a chronic skin condition, we think is a allergy to chicken. I decided to try the taste of the wild salmon didn't seem to make any difference was hoping to be able to cut back and the amount of apoquel he's getting. The vet said it's probably because they have different lines that produce chicken flavor or some cross-contamination I guess the only thing we can do is go to the Science Diet now.
I have a high energy pit-mix and I did a lot of research trying to find a dog food that 1. Doesn’t have chicken or beef as the main source of protein because she has food allergies and 2. Whose main carbohydrates source is complex carbs to hopefully manage her energy. We haven’t transitioned her into this food yet, but I read great reviews and seems like a high quality dog food. Chewy offered the most affordable price. I also love the ‘Bob Ross’ look on the front of the bag!
My puppy bluenose pit-bull Dude was a picky eater as a baby, but all of that changed once I introduced him to Taste of the Wild - Pacific Stream. Aside from Dude growing healthy and strong, he is very happy and smart. I think a lot of that has to do with his diet. And his coat is a beautiful, shiny, dark charcoal grey color and his white chest looks very clean as well. I’m confident a lot of that has to do with the food he eats. I highly recommend this brand for all of your four-legged loved ones, especially if they are active puppies like my Dude.
We switched to this after our beagle mix was having ongoing diarrhea issues and we suspected a chicken allergy. Since switching to this food her poop issues have completely gone away! And she loves it and scarfs it down.
I have fed this kibble for over 15 years without issues. But see photo from last two bags in my recent Chewy shipment, both received in same shipment. One bag had huge paler colored kibble compared to other bag that has the usual color and size. Both bags Taste of the Wild, Grain Free Salmon. Unfortunately I did not retain bag from off size/color kibble in order to compare product codes. Dogs (4) ate as usual, but now concerned as my 14 year old dog had a major health issue after consuming this for several days. While I use to have confidence in this brand, I can no longer recommend it.
My dog used to LOVE this food. It was great for her chicken and grain allergies, and she went crazy at meal times. The last bag we bought has a terrible, chemical-like smell. She won’t even go near it, and I can’t blame her. Disappointed but we’ll be switching.
My 11yo, Sonya, won’t eat anything else. Since we switched her several years ago she has had no skin irritation, shiny coat and happy tummy! Ingredients are clear and we supplement grains with steamed rice and beets, broccli and chia seeds once a week.
My dogs have been on this dog food for over a year. I chose to use Chewy due to a supply problem locally. I'm tired of going from place to place to see if it is in stock. This is an excellent choice for dog food, being a no grain food.
I have ordered many times from Chewy and have always been happy with the product. The order was received however the delivery truck driver went in the grass both driving up the driveway and on his way back to the street. Very disappointed in this! Wrigley loves his dog food!
