About Taste of the Wild Cat Food

The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be cheetahs or lions, but today's domestic cats share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium fish and meats like smoked salmon, trout, ocean fish, roasted venison and chicken. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pet feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a cat's GI tract. The proprietary Viables probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your cat gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your kitty will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Taste of the Wild gives your little wildcat just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from smoked salmon or ocean fish, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

Ingredients for Better Health

The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.

TOMATOES and TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.

BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.

  • Good for everyone else, just not my little girl!

I love Taste of the Wild Grain Free for my dogs, this is my first time buying it for my cat! She is just wandering around crying for her old food! I opened the bag two days ago and she has not eaten at all! We used to get Nutri-Source and she loved it but they no longer sell it here.

  • I recommend with reservations

I wanted a grain free food. I can no longer order Pure Vita, which my two kitties adore. So I tried this one. One kitty eats it ok, the other eats it reluctantly. I took over a week to nudge them into it, so it wasn't a surprise taste. BUT -- their poop stinks. Really stinks. It stinks so bad they don't even want to stick around and cover it up. I am going back to buying Pure Vita locally, an expensive option, but an option that I know will work.

  • The Only Grain Free Food My Cat Would Eat!

    By on

When my fiance and I first moved in together, his cat was eating a very unhealthy diet of only dry food, and it was a very cheap, very poorly made food from the grocery store. My fiance's cat, Cookie was very overweight and sluggish. I immediately began buying bags upon bags of various healthy/grain-free cat foods and he would not eat a single one. Would not touch them even if it meant going on a hunger strike. My sister recommended Taste of the Wild and we gave it a shot with Cookie. He actually ATE it! It took him 3-4 days to actually eat it at a regular pace (he was grazing on it at first) but now he cannot get enough of this food. He has lost visible weight, his fur is so incredibly soft and he sheds so much less than he used to. I've also noticed that he's so much more playful and active than he was while eating his old food. I could not be more thrilled with the results of feeding this food to my cat- I recommend it to anyone, especially those with a picky cat who are trying to find a healthier kibble. … more

  • Our animals LOVE Taste of the Wild

    By on

This food has made all the difference for our animals - especially our senior rescue cat. We had her on a generic, grocery store food for the first 3 months and made the switch to Taste of the Wild after a friend made the recommendation. It took less than a month and her coat became so shiny and soft. And she loves it! This food meets all of our expectations.

  • Grain Free Cat Food

    By on

Took me a while to find a cat food that my very thin cat would like enough to actually eat EVERY day. After adulthood, my persian cat only picked at cat food, didnt like the canned wet food at all, and I would resort to having to give her canned tuna to get her to eat. Her long black fur would be dry and her skin flakey. After trying this food, she will nibble on it all day and has gone from 5 to 6 pounds, and her coat looks much healthier. She is still tiny, but not underweight. Will keep feeding her this kibble as she seems healthy on it.

  • Great Price... Keep the Cost Down.

    By on

Taste of the Wild is a great and healthy once a day food source for your cats... Other than going can wet food throughout the day this dry cat food saves you so money to substitute in for a meal. I found some good reviews and overall the packaging ingredients are impressive. As long as the price stays under $30 dollars this is the way to go. This even works a good substitute for treats.

My 3 cats are being careful of the Rocky Mountain Grain Free cat food but each day they are eating more. They have not had anything this good for them in ten years. They eat more all the time. and seem to love the Taste of the Wild.

  • My rescue cat loves it

    By on

When I first brought home my rescue cat, she had been fed something from Purina, she seemed to like it, but I'm pickier about ingredient lists when it comes to feeding my pets. She absolutely loves this food. I mean, yells at me to feed her. But... It makes her poop smell so bad. Maybe it's just her, but she can clear a room. I'll probably continue buying it, but wow.
