Should I clean my tank before use? Or should I use it and then clean the tank?

Answer by ChewyApr 13, 2019
For aquariums 40 gallons or larger, and for soft water and/or acid water with low alkalinity, dissolve tablets before adding to aquarium. Use Tetra test strips to monitor pH and alkalinity levels and remove carbon from filter during use. If ick persists, treat every 24 hours until it clears. You should change 25% of the water before adding any new dose, add Tetra Aquasafe to all tap water.

Can u put this treatment in the tank with the fish in it ??????I have a betta fish

Answer by ChewyApr 26, 2019
The fish has to be in the aquarium for the treatment to work with the fish's skin that has become infected.

Can this be used safely with small fish like neon tetras?

Answer by ChewyFeb 12, 2018
The treatment is safe to use with small fish like neon tetras.

How can you tell when the ich has cleared?

Answer by ChewyOct 06, 2022
Ick is a parasite with a 7 day life cycle. It causes small white dots on fish. The consumer should do a small water change once a day and add the proper dose of Ick Guard until all spots are gone. The fish will resume normal eating and appearance and will not longer sport spots all over it.

Easy to use!

Works great for my fish. If I see any white ick spots I just drop in the tank and it clears it up. If you have shrimp do not use it!

I never experienced ick in any of my fish before. Being that it is February, I am unable to raise the temperature of the pond water so I decided to try Tetra. After one dose my fish responded, but wasn't completely better. After a second dose a few days later, my fish is much better. The other fish were not affected and they are all doing well.

Not effective

I have been following the instruction on the package, but 4 fish have died so far after treating the tank for the appropriate doses. I have used other ich treatments

I have been following the instruction on the package, but 4 fish have died so far after treating the tank for the appropriate doses. I have used other ich treatments in the past without issue. Definitely look elsewhere for the safety of your fish.
