What is the size of the hole?

The grazing hole is adjustable. The restricted size is 2.5 centimeters and the regular size is 3.5 centimeters.

are zip ties required for it to stay on the halter? How are they used?

What do I need to measure?

To measure, while your halter is on your horse you can measure from D-ring to D-ring on your halter under the horse's muzzle and add about 1 inch to that. The Horse Muzzle sizes should be based on the size of your horse. For instance, the pony halter is suitable for a pony muzzle.

Light-weight

We have been using these muzzles on 5 horses on our farm and they are wearing them beautifully! I'm not gonna lie....They acted miserable the first day or two. Two

We have been using these muzzles on 5 horses on our farm and they are wearing them beautifully! I'm not gonna lie....They acted miserable the first day or two. Two of the muzzles were ripped off entirely the next day and one horse removed the entire halter. Stick with it!! They all graze normally now and, as an added benefit, the bitey ones can no longer bite their pasture mates!!!

No rubs!!

I needed a grazing muzzle when moving my horse from a barn with no pasture, to one where he'd be turned out all day to graze. I ordered the Thinline muzzle, but

I needed a grazing muzzle when moving my horse from a barn with no pasture, to one where he'd be turned out all day to graze. I ordered the Thinline muzzle, but it didn't arrive by move-in day so I had to run to the tack shop to find one. His temporary muzzle was a nylon web basket style one, and in just the three days that he wore it he developed horrible rubs on his lips, nose, and chin. I switched him over to the Thinline muzzle as soon as it arrived and what a difference! It is lightweight, easy to clean, comfortable, and has not caused a single rub! I will never use any other type of grazing muzzle.

I researched grazing muzzles as my easy and then some keeper needed something. I'd had an old school basket muzzle in my tack room but wanted something lighter and more comfortable for him. Reviews seemed great between the ThinLIne and one other, so I ordered the Flexible Filly. Alas. He really struggled with it, I tried adjusting the fit, watching videos, etc. but it just didn't seem to mesh with him. I'm disappointed and it wasn't an inexpensive set-up with the ThinLine Turn-out Halter but it was worth a try.

Works well

My horse is a halter houdini, but needed to wear a grazing muzzle. This has worked for him, and he hates it less that the standard grazing muzzle.
