My mare ended up choking on this (she also had a sore throat so the food was not the only factor). I will say even before that I was very surprised at how hard the pellets and dried food pieces were, when the bag said Senior I assume they would have done a softer formulation (nearly all other senior feeds I have seen are extruded). My bad for not reading the description fully, but just be warned if your horse has problems chewing or bolts their food.

I purchased this bag feed for my two ottbs who both came to me very under-conditioned and in poor weight. First off, it is so hard to find bagged feeds with good ingredients. I love that this stuff is free of corn, soy by-products, wheat by-products, and artificial flavors. I can feel good about feeding this to my horses. My horses love this feed. They gobble it right up but I've noticed it doesn't make them food aggressive which tells me it's high quality. I feel like in just the short week I've been giving it to them it has improved their condition just a touch. Obviously, feeding it to them over a longer period of time combined with a proper conditioning program will tell me a lot more. I am combining it with weight gaining oil as well. I will continue to buy, as the wholesome ingredients are very much worth it to me. I will have to write another review in 6 months with comparison photos.

I purchased this for my elderly mare who is very skinny and can’t chew well anymore. I have been tweaking her diet on a forage based diet and unfortunately, she needs. Something a little more. I have added a cup of this to her diet to make sure she can digest it properly and it seems to be working quite well. She devours it. In addition, she has already started gaining weight and is looking gorgeous.

My Senior Horse is Doing Much Better!

I have an 18 YO paint that has heaves and arthritis and struggles to keep weight on. I love that there are no inflammatory ingredients like soy. Fingers crossed-

Fingers crossed- she has not had a heaves episode or stiffness since I switched her to this despite the wild weather we have been having!! She has been on it for only 2 weeks and has already gained some weight and topline!

Great results!
