How does your dog know how to USE this when you first introduce it? Do you have to kind of show them what's what, or do they figure it out all on their own?
Answer by ChewyNov 15, 2017
This toy is made for joint games between a dog and their owners. To introduce the toy, it is recommended to set low targets in the presence of your dog to peak their interest and slowly increasing the level of difficulty as they improve.

Is this toy designed for smaller dogs? The compartments look so small that I am wondering if it will be too small for my 70Ib dog.

Best activity board for the smart and food motivated

I almost gave up Using activity boards because my dog is honestly too smart (Aussie/heeler) and he would do them in 30 seconds so I didn’t like wasting money.. this one actually engages him and makes him think a little bit. It took him 5 minutes or less to do this one but that’s a lot longer than others have! He loves it! The frenchie likes it as well and does ok with it, but the part where the pieces slide are too far down for his fat flat face. He can’t reach the treats in that part. And he’d ratherJust chew on all the pieces. I also accidentally had it on autoship by itself and just messaged Chewy to see if I can return the second one as I had no use for two. They replied right away and said they would refund the second one. The refund even included the shipping cost as it was shipped by itself!

Good toy, I think my dog just has some user error

I bought this after purchasing the Level 1 toy, which was too easy for my senior "pit bull" mix, Sasha. This one definitely gives her more of a challenge and she spends more time with it. However, she only knows two strategies which she learned from other toys: (1) Smash her kong on the floor as hard as she can so frozen bits come loose, and (2) Slide her IQ ball across the floor with her paws and nose. Well, she also uses those strategies for this toy and mostly just picks the whole thing up and smashes it or pushes it across the floor with her nose. Very loud on a wood floor, ha! I think it's a great toy for some dogs, just maybe not mine. :)

Stuck Lever

On the product photo above, the blue lever to the far left is very, very hard to move. Even for this human! Unfortunately I can't get rid of that lever so it frustrates my dog any time I bring this game out to play. It's too bad because every other piece works great. Other games in this series have worked perfectly so maybe this is just a fluke.

Not quite sturdy enough for our pup!

Our 8 month old Irish Doodle is very active, very food motivated and very rough -- he's been destroying toys at a rapid clip so finding things to keep him busy and wear him out has been hard. He loves the treat dispensing nature of this one -- but he quickly figured out all he needed to do was pick it up and throw it around a couple of times to get all of the treats out, then chew on the loose pieces, so it's not ideal for him. (He seems to miss the strategy part altogether!) We have to monitor him constantly to keep him from chewing the pieces, damaging furniture, etc., but he enjoys the treats nonetheless!

Really good to occupy your puppy!

I knew my dog would need a more advanced puzzle, and he's used it 4x and still has a little trouble with one of the puzzles - that's a good thing! If you need to occupy your smart dog for 20 min or so, this is a good choice. I won't be giving it to him too often b/c I don't want him to get too good at it!

my dog is slowly starting to learn how to solve all the parts, it keeps her occupied, and she seems to have a good time! i love watching her wrinkly snoot excitedly push everything around

My dogs love it

This is the third of three puzzles I have bought for my dogs (a puppy and an elderly dog). They really like this one. It takes them a little longer than the Level 1 and Level 2 puzzles but they are getting pretty quick at solving this one too. That being said, they get really excited when I pull it out. It makes them happy -- I just wish it took them a bit longer to solve so that they'd be kept busy longer on cold winter days!

Great toy for dogs

Our lab is really smart so she had this toy down quickly. Good for keeping her entertained and gives rewards each step of the way.

Trixie Mini Mover

Got this for our newly blind dog. She is not able to see the pull rope or the pull out trays, but she did seem to enjoy moving the sliders and lifting the taller pieces to find the bits of food we left for her. It was a great price from Chewy's. If there was a physical store though where I could see it in person before purchasing it, I'd probably not have gotten it. So I will not put food in the parts she is not able to see and use and it will still be in the cycle of entertainment for her.
