How does your dog know how to USE this when you first introduce it? Do you have to kind of show them what's what, or do they figure it out all on their own?
Answer by ChewyNov 15, 2017
This toy is made for joint games between a dog and their owners. To introduce the toy, it is recommended to set low targets in the presence of your dog to peak their interest and slowly increasing the level of difficulty as they improve.

Is this toy designed for smaller dogs? The compartments look so small that I am wondering if it will be too small for my 70Ib dog.
Answer by ChewyJan 02, 2018
This toy is recommended for toy, small and medium breed dogs. The product's dimensions are 9.75 inches long x 7.75 inches wide x 3.5 inches high.

For cats too

My very strong, bright and active flame point Siamese cats enjoy this toy. They figured it out by themselves, right away. It helps keep them busy.

So small

I was expecting this to be bigger honestly. I bought it so that I could give my eleven month old catahoula a challenge. unfortunately, it's so tiny that he can just flip all the treats out of it by scraping it with his paw. im honestly just gonna go back to outward hound puzzles.

Meh.

It was very easy for my chocolate lab. Which sucks because I would have gotten a harder one instead of wasting money.

Chloe loves this. Just challenging enough. She’s 16 months and very enchanted with a new way to find treats!

Almost dishwasher safe

The puzzle is solid but fairly easy for my dog to solve. My only complaint is that it is not completely dishwasher safe as advertised. The screws holding it together are all rusting after using the dishwasher to clean it.

A little hit but mostly a MISS

My pup loves food puzzles but this one I would not recommend. The ball slide does not open drawer for food when pushed so she gets frustrated with it. The string is hard to pull and she ends up pulling the entire puzzle without opening the drawer. It does not open on it's own when pulled. The slides are easy to work and she gets through them as well as the plastic pieces but the holes are not big enough to hold much food. Overall I would call this a miss and we will stick with the puzzles she already has.

She loves them!

This is the 2nd Trixie puzzle that I have purchased and she loves them both. I purchased this one over 2 years ago as of now for my Maltipoo and it is still in excellent condition. We use them every couple of weeks. If you have chewers then I would not recommend leaving them out. They are made of plastic and can be chewed. My dog doesn't chew, but we use it and then put it back up. She wasn't too sure when we got the first one and now she loves them. She now gets so excited when she sees me get them down. Also if your dog is not food/treat driven then you may have a little issue getting them motivated to want to do it. I would DEFINITELY recommend any of Trixies puzzles!!

Second time buying it!

Only negative is the food gets in the tracks and can be rough to clean out. This blue is a much calmer color than the bright pink. The puzzle is just hard enough to be challenging, but easy enough our cat doesn't lose interest!

Roger is a little too smart for this one, but he enjoys the treats he gets

I'd thought it looked harder than it was.
