Tuff Mutt Dual Handle Rope Dog Leash, Gray

I've had THREE of these leashes (all identical) since May 2025 and the clip mechanism on the carabiner has failed on all three. As shown in the photo, the closure/clip sticks in a PARTIALLY OPEN position. This makes it impossible to use, because, the clip won't open wide enough to accept the ring from my dog's harness. You can manually fiddle with it and close the clip, but no matter what you do, it no longer opens fully. The most frustrating thing is I really loved this leash! Bought the first one in late May, it failed within 3 months (with only minimal use of 3 or 4 times per week), Chewy replaced it. I assumed the defect was a fluke, and I otherwise loved the leash, so I went ahead and purchased another one so I'd have a backup. Now, the same problem has happened with the other two - that's three broken clips in 7 months. Not sure how I've received three defective leashes and no other customers have mentioned this same broken clip issue in their reviews, but I did notice there are no RECENT reviews posted. Either the manufacturing quality has diminished permanently or all 3 of the leashes I received came from the same "bad batch". I will check reviews in another 6 months and if the reviews look good, I'll probably purchase again.

This is the only leash I will use, the locking clip keeps my dog safe, and the traffic handle it a nice feature too.
