My Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) positive cat has dental issues due to his virus, making it difficult to give him oral medications. He doesn’t like marshmallows, catnip, silvervine, or any human food. However, he loves meat-flavored items, such as Purina Hydrate and liver-flavored probiotics. We attempted to try this antibiotic in a beef flavor, but it had a chemical smell rather than a meaty one, and he refused it. I can’t blame him for that.

The cat hated the flavor and started running and fighting when I tried to put the drops in his mouth. I tried mixing it in food, but he would not eat the food if the Tylosin was mixed in, so I had to give up giving it to him. There were two other drops he was taking, and I did not get the same reaction from him.

Kindness counts

The people that I dealt with in the pharmacy were so incredibly kind and accommodating. I have nothing but good things to say about Chewy!!!

The kind folks at Chewy sent me the beef flavor to try with my cat, but unfortunately, it’s still a no-go. When I give her the meds, she screams, thrashes around, and once I set her down, she gags and nearly vomits. It’s definitely not a flavor she can tolerate.

Misty gets diarrhea because she is an active, excitable Papillon. Everything else has been ruled out. This time she could not get over it and our Veterinarian suggested Tylosin. It worked immediately. She stopped the diarrhea and pooped the next evening. Will use again if needed.
