I have 3 horses. How many servings will one bag provide? Will it be enough or will I need to buy multiple bags for 3?

Answer by ChewyNov 27, 2020
Serving size is based on an average horse weight of 1,000 pounds. Administer two scoops (100 grams) once daily for 3 to 7 consecutive days. It is not recommended to exceed 7 consecutive days in a 30 day time period. A 4 pound bag is 1.82 kilograms or 1820 grams.

The supplement is for both my horses

I like it because it forms a gel in the food. I am pleased because I see it would be great in the horses gut.

My Australian Shepherd had gastroenteropathy for the last 2 years of his life and psyllium powder (Ultracruz or Farnam recommended by our vet specialist) saved us from unpredictable nasty cleanups. We mixed 1 tablespoon into wet food at meals (canned or soggied kibble), and immediately fed the dog. It made the consistency of his poop pick-up-able. Letting the psyllium sit made the food gummy, so immediate feeding works best.

I soaked this into a small amount of alfalfa pellets and my mammoth donkey had such a serious choke that didn't resolve on it's own, the vet needed to tube him. The Psyllium powder coagulated and blocked his esophagus! We have found when we soak it, it tends to create a paste on the outside and remain dry inside, so even if you soak it, it can still cause choke. I typically love ultracruz products, they use high quality ingredients, so I was deeply disappointed. Not to mention the vet bill.
