can this be used on my dog or do I need to get the canine version?

For dogs and cats, we recommend the Vetericyn FoamCare Medicated Shampoo for Pets. Each of the FoamCare Shampoo products are specifically formulated for coat density and hair type. Equine coats are much different than companion animals and therefore formulated differently.
