Can this product be used long term OR only situational?
Answer by ChewyOct 26, 2022
Zylkene supplement can be used long term or short term. It has proven to be safe and effect.

will this make my dog less playful and get deprest
Answer by ChewyApr 19, 2018
This supplement will not cause your dog to be depressed. The non-drowsy formula uses alpha-casozepine, a natural ingredient found in cow’s milk, to help balance the stress reactions of dogs safely and with no tranquilizing or sedating effects.

Generally speaking, how long is a Zylkene capsule effective in a dog? There are chews available that work for about four hours, and I am looking for something that will assist a bit longer in the day. Thank you.
Answer by ChewySep 10, 2018
The results will vary from pet to pet, but generally speaking the effects last most of the day (4+ hours).

My vet prescribed one pill 1-2 hours before the car ride that stresses my dog out. I’m reading that it should be days, not hours?
Answer by ChewyJul 11, 2019
This dog supplement recommends dogs 33 - 65 pounds to have 1 capsule daily. For dogs 66 - 132 pounds, feed 2 capsules daily. We recommend consulting your Veterinarian to see what would be a good fit for your pet.

Caution with dairy or beef sensitivities!

My dog has a whole host of food sensitivities after surviving parvovirus. Since beginning this supplement, his itching has dramatically increased and as a result he seems more anxious and uncomfortable. I wish this caution had been provided in the product information before spending $75. An expensive experiment!

House with 4 Doggy Babies

Best stuff the vet ever recommended to our family. Make sure you give the right dose, but product works great especially for traveling.

Excellent Supplement for Separation Anxiety

As my pet became older she became more anxious when we left her at home alone. This supplement is amazing and calms her down within 15 minutes after injection.

super fast!!

We have been using this pills for almost a month, I am not able yet to see changes but my vet told me that it takes at least a month to see results. However, this product arrived so fast, I was looking into other websites and most had a delivered time of almost 15 days. With Chewy we received the pills in two business days!!

Not a miracle, but very helpful

We have a rescue dog that's about 13, we had him for almost 12 years. No one at the shelter told us we were his 5th family! He was borderline vicious... After a LOT of work and age, he's great. All said, we moved once after we got him, he freaked... We moved 6 weeks ago, across country. Vet gave us anxiety meds, helped some, he hated them, and he was a vegetable. I tried these, and within an hour he was very calm. I only give at night now. We did have an issue two nights ago, but he just went into another room to freak out and fell asleep. If he stays in our room, he gets a pill. Not his favorite. I will buy again, if he hasn't adjusted by then. It's a good product.

Works wonders for my dog!

Zylkene has helped my 2 year old dog adapt to a move to a new apartment/neighborhood great. Our vet had recommended it in the past but we never tried it, but after moving our dog was almost refusing to go outside (he's generally afraid of busy city traffic, and the new environment didn't help). I got him Zylkene (which arrived next day-thanks Chewy!), we used it for about a week, and it worked miracles. He would walk alongside busy roads just fine without being afraid like in the past, and now he feels confident and excited when exploring his new neighborhood. The best part is that when he takes it he is still his same playful, energetic self and it doesn't seem to have any adverse side effects. Highly recommend trying this for anyone dealing with an anxious pup and/or stressful situations. It may not work for all dogs but I'm glad we tried it and it helped ours.

Possible solution

Our vet recommended this product as a replacement for Gabapentin for our aging Lab mix because we aren't always sure if his whining is a result of actual pain from his degenerative disc disease or anxiety. (He does take a daily pill for that condition; the Gabapentin was meant for any additional discomfort.) We've tried it only once so far, and it did reduce his whining, but I think it's still too early to tell. This medication does not seem to knock him out the way the Gabapentin does.

Effective product

I gave Zylkene to our American Eskimo to help with 3 -day 1500 mile car trip along the east coast. During the ride, he had stretch/potty breaks but never hesitated to get back into the travel crate. He managed the overnight hotel stops and meeting new people as if he was a seasoned traveler. The travel was pleasant for everyone. Kobi seemed relaxed, but still attentive. I will always travel with Zylkene for the dog. Thanks for a great product.

Expensive but effective

We give to our girl during behavioral adjustment training (BAT) sessions with our trainer and we see more progress with the zylkene than we do without.
