How old is a dog before consider Senior
Answer by ChewyDec 25, 2017
In general, the typical range for a dog to be considered a senior is from 7-10 years of age. A larger dog will have a shorter life span and be a senior closer to 7 years of age, whereas a small breed pet has a longer life expectancy and be considered senior closer to 10 years of age.

How big is the tablet? My dog has a hard time taking big pills.
Answer by ChewyMar 02, 2019
These chewable tablets measure approximately 1/2 inch long x 1/4 inch wide and thick. We also carry the VetriScience Canine Plus Senior Multivitamin Everyday Health Bite-Sized Dog Soft Chews.

humans shouldn't take calcium CARBONATE because it is a stomach acid reducer and other vitamins NEED the stomach acid to break them down. Isn't it the same way with dogs? So why is it found here?
Answer by ChewyOct 02, 2019
Calcium carbonate is an essential mineral in your dog’s diet. It aides bone growth, teeth resilience, eyesight, and prevents clotting. If you do not feed your dog enough calcium, serious health repercussions can follow. But it is also important you do not feed your dog too much calcium carbonate, as it could negate the effects of other essential minerals like iron and zinc. Calcium carbonate is usually added to your dog’s meal in a powder form, but for quantities and further advice you should consult your local vet.

Is there phosphorus in this supplement? Need to find something with a balance between calcium and phosphorus. Thank you
Answer by ChewyJul 02, 2020
There is a minimum of 1.60% and a maximum of 1.76% of phosphorus per chew.

Nope she did not like

Decided to try these since petsprefer no longer makes their adult multivitamin. My dog just sniffs and turns her head away. They are beef flavored but smell like plants. I really don't want to crush these up everyday and mix in her wet food.

Senior Vitamins

My vet recommended these for our older dogs and even pushed the idea that they are chew able however both dogs at the same time said he was crazy so they now get them in either a pill pocket or piece of turkey. the do however seem to have given them more pep and am thinking of asking my doctor if there is anything in them that I can get for myself. Pep would help me keep up with them,

Bad odor / Vetri Science vitamins NO customer service

Have been purchasing this vitamin for over 2 years, was really good. This bottle I just purchased wreaked like cheap canned fish or cod liver oil. Chewy was GREAT about refunding my money. I called the manufacturer to let them know about the weird awful smell, cant get through to anyone. Will make sure not to purchase anything from VETRI SCIENCE ever again. My dog is in kidney failure and now I have to search for another supplement that her vet approves of.

He eats it!

I'm pleased with this product for my 14 1/2 year old Samoyed. With a smear of peanut butter, he will eat it, unlike his old multivitamin. (which changed formulation and he would no longer eat, even with peanut butter!) It has all the right ingredients for a senior dog, so I am happy that he is agreeable to eating it.

Senior vitamin

Unfortunately my dogs will not take this vitamin. I've had to disguise it so they will take it. They are use to taking chewable vitamins. Will have to find something else.
