My Pom/Sheltie mix is 8 yrs old. Should I be buying the senior glycoflex?

Answer by Cockers5Aug 15, 2021
I would recommend the senior Glycoflex for the 8 yr old. My 7yr, 8yr & 10yr old dogs are all on Glycoflex 3 Senior

What is the difference (other than tablet /chew) between VetriScience GlycoFlex Stage III SENIOR Joint Support Dog Tablets, 120 count and VetriScience GlycoFlex Stage III ULTIMATE Strength Joint Support Bite-Sized Dog Chews, 120 count. Thank you

Answer by ChewyMay 18, 2018
The dosing between the two formulas are slightly different in levels of Vitamin C. The Senior formula contains 30 mg. as for the Ultimate Strength formula contains 24 mg. Additionally, dosing is met in 1 tablet for Seniors, and in 2 chews for Ultimate Strength.

Do these have a meaty taste or smell to them? And can you tell me how big they are?

Answer by ChewyFeb 27, 2018
This product has a strong smell and is about the size of a nickel.

Is there an expiration date for these tablets

Answer by ChewyApr 23, 2018
This product has an expiration date and the shelf life is 24 months.

But the formula hasn’t supposedly changed as per the manufacturer, however, they were very hard to break in half at the score marks as our pups didn’t need a full tablet serving size. Became too difficult to feed them these. Will be trying a chewable vs this chewable tablet.

It's only been about 2 weeks, but I am seeing a difference in both my Alaskan Malamutes' playfulness. I know the cooler weather is a part of it; they live for the cold and the snow. But my nearly 8-year-old has been running about more like a puppy, and that fills my heart with such joy! I have to crush it with a mortar and pestle because neither of my babies likes the flavor. But I crush it and mix it into some pumpkin as a food topper, and they are both are taking it that way. I don't mind the extra step, and if it really is helping their hips and they are more playful, I have zero complaints.

Hip stopped popping

My 5 year old 80 pound f1 golden doodle hips were cracking. Vet recommended this and within a couple weeks it stopped.

I mainly started these as prophylaxis for my pup right before she turned 7 years old. She's only about 50 lbs, but according to her DNA test (idk how accurate), she has larger breeds in her, including German Shepherd, Bull Mastiff, and Lab, so I'm trying to stay ahead of potential joint issues. I'm pretty familiar with the Dasuquin chews that I had for my elderly cat (which were amazing, but RIP to my old man), but my Vet recommended this as another good option since it also included green-lipped mussel. It's only been about a month now but her hips look to be sitting more comfortably and she's sleeping in more "fluid" or "floppy" positions like she did more when she was a little younger. I'd say so far for efficacy, it's looking great... however, she is NOT a fan of the taste. She is very food motivated and not picky AT ALL, so I figured I wouldn't have a problem going for the more cost-efficient tablets vs. the chews, but I may have to switch. We essentially have to trick her and give lots of praise when she eats or she will just spit it back out. I got 2 huge bottles on a great deal so it will be awhile until we can adjust, but if your dog is extremely picky, the tablets might not be the most appetizing. I also received the new, rebranded packaging in black and orange, but from what I understand, the product is still identical.
