no-go for our great dane
we attempted to transition our 2 year old Great Dane from Victor professional to this classic elite. He immediately did not respond well to it, diarrhea, weird yellow coloration, etc. We were following recommendations but had to abort fairly quickly.
Recalled
This was already on a recall list so I don’t it should have ever been sent. Either Victor dropped the ball on their end on notifying you. Or everyone involved dropped the ball.
Victor all the way...
I have tried, researched, tested, and looked all over for the best foods if kibble is needed. This is my preference for large to giant breed doggies. Being a long time rescue worker, trainer, and Behaviorist; a fellow vet technician showed me this brand. I now only feed this along with fresh meats, ECT. Never had an issue, and like the fact that there's glucosamine/c. For my older ones joint health.
A great choice for high quality food
I love this food for my German Shepherd. She loves the taste and gobbles it up. I've researched a lot of food, and Victor is a great option for high protein, low fat and quality ingredients. I love that this is formulate for large breed dogs, too.
Great Solution, Great Food
A friend recommended this food when I got my Great Pyrenees puppy, as she has a senior Great Pyrenees and four young puppies. Since I have a senior Australian Shepherd, I was buying separate food for my boys. Although I was unfamiliar with this brand, after researching, I decided to try it. This was the perfect solution and is such a great food. My pups (old and young) love it and transitioned with no problems. I highly recommend Victor Elite Canine for our big dogs.

Great find! My Great Dane puppy loves the taste of Victor’s dog food! It’s the perfect food for large breeds from puppy to adulthood. I ordered 2 large bag and qualified for free shipping to my front door. Get on the subscription program and you never again have to haul 40/50lb bags from the grocery store again.
Skye's Meals
I've just switched my puppy to Victor's large breed food after feeding her Victor's Professional which she was on from her breeder. My puppy eats it with gusto never leaving a piece of kibble in her bowl. She has never had any intestinal issues on Victor food. I will continue to purchase and Chewy's delivery has been great too.
Best brand and best value
Have been a long time feeder of Victor foods. This elite was recommended by our Rottweiler breeder for large breed all life stages. He loves it and is thriving on it!
Elitle Canie
Briefer fed professional as puppies. We switch to large the new green bag Elite Canine for our Great Dane. They seem to do well on it but wish it was not and expensive as other formulas. You don’t find many brands with joint support for large breeds and can’t find it locally. Always have to order online.
