What kind of preservatives are used in VICTOR?
VICTOR is made with only Natural Plant Based Preservatives. A unique blend of mixed tocopherols for superior free radical absorption and of botanically-sourced antioxidants are added to the protein and fat ingredients we use to stabilize and naturally prevent oxidative damage. No artificially based preservatives are added to our product.
Why is it so important that there is no corn, wheat, or soy in VICTOR?
Corn, Wheat, and Soy have all been identified as potential allergens for some dogs and cats.
Where can I find the Lot Code and Best By date on a bag of Victor?
The Lot Code Number and Best By Date can be found on the back side of the bag (New Poly Packaging) above the VICTOR Logo near the top or (Older Paper Packaging) near the bottom seal below the labeling. The Best By Date is one year from the date the product was packaged for what should still be suitable to be fed up to that date as a guideline. Provided the product has been in favorable conditions will determine how suitable for consumption it should be. Keeping the product from being exposed to excessive heat for any amount of time is the best way to maintain the expected shelf life of one year.

Girls not complaining...yet.
By talliloo on Feb 25, 2021
giving 4 stars because i thought i would have a fight on my hands to get them to adjust to it. but, surprisingly, they didn't miss a beat. the first week they acted like they were still hungry after cleaning their bowls (they free eat) because i was following the suggested amounts. but, after the first week they seem sated with the amount. still haven't seen much weight loss. i got the huge bag because that was all that was available at the time so still have a couple of weeks left of it. if no weight loss may hunt around for higher protein/less fat than victors but that would be the only reason i would switch to another.

Great food!
By JFarmer on Jan 30, 2021
Very high quality food! My dogs love it and is definitely helping my Blue Heeler get back to a healthy weight. My 13 year old German Shepherd with joint issues on top of her age is also doing great on Victor, her mobility is better and all my dogs have got a even better looking coat and I have to say the ingredients/formulation of Victor is superb all 4 dogs actually eat less and are satisfied.

She likes it but not losing weight...
By LFPV on Mar 1, 2021
This is a good quality food and my dog does enjoy it, but she has not lost any weight on this... on the bright side, she hasn't gained any either. I would definitely buy this again. My only issue is there is only one choice for the Senior Heathly Weight food by Victor... mixing up the proteins and offering choices would be a plus.

Perfect for my senior dog
By seventhgate on Jan 14, 2021
My dog is 16yrs old, and her previous food had been giving her some major gas. Plus from getting old her joints are starting to hurt. Tried a brand on here and she ate it but always had to mix something in to get her to. I think it was just the shape of the kibble. Tried this brand as it was similar to the other I tried on here, and right away bowl was empty. No more adding Chicken broth or anything else to get her to eat, she just eats it. This one keeps the gas away as well, and appears to be helping with her joints. The round kibble is perfect. I think the one I tried before this one was square-ish and thin. I won't be looking for another brand now, as this one is here to stay. Next purchase My dog is 16yrs old, and her previous food had been giving her some major gas. He’ll eat it.
By TmarieL on Jan 13, 2021
My beagle is a little chunky so I decided to try this food after him not really eating 2 other weight reduction foods. I’ve figured out that, as most dogs do, he much prefers people food to dog food, but he does seem to eat it and he has lost a couple pounds. With any of the weight reduction foods I’ve tried, he holds out for as long as he can before he eats them. Don’t know that I’ll ever find one that he’ll really eat with gusto since he’s pretty stubborn, but we’re sticking with this one since there’s some results.

Dogs love it
By Victor on Jan 28, 2021
My German Shepard had gained quite a bit of weight so I needed to change her food. I read the reviews on Victor Senior healthy weight and they were good! Well she loves it! She hasn’t lost very much yet but it’s only been 2 weeks. The great thing is she eating it and I do see a small difference! I would definitely recommend this product!

7 Chubbies
By Pack on Feb 16, 2021
My crew was gaining weight on another Victor variety. So I switched to this one. They all seem to like it. No loose stool or vomiting. Too early to tell about weight loss. They seem to eat less, but appear satisfied.

Keeping him moving
By Felix on Jan 13, 2021
Dogs need to move. Typically, Old dogs need to move more. The formulation of this food has, in my opinion, allowed my dogs to continue to hike with me daily and not hurt afterwards. This without any medicines which can introduce complicating side effects. I have 2 lab mixes who just turned 11 this month. Chewy’s insures I have consistent access. It’s all good.

They Love This Food
By FurbabyMama on Jan 14, 2021
My young but chubby senior dogs love this food, as do I. The ingredients are high quality, the kibble easy to eat and holds their shape. My beagle mix food lover really enjoys it. My heeler is all over it, so no complaints. My puppy even eats it (he has his own Victor puppy, but the pack shares their food :-) ). I highly recommend.

great for my older easy keeper!
By TheFuzzyOnes on Dec 18, 2020
We have the suspicion that Floyd The Dog would probably not only sustain himself but would thrive on saw dust. That dog is more or less on a perpetual diet regimen for his whole life. We learned pretty fast in the past 10 years with him, that normal feeding regiments would leave him a sausage. So finding a good food that makes him feel like he actually had a satisfying meal without turning him into a pillow is quite the challenge. Now at his older age we start to see the first signs of arthritis and we sadly had to take the exercise for him down a notch. He gained weight IMMEDIATELY and we had to switch foods because of that. He gets additional joint support treats, but we could see an immediate change in his demeanor and activity levels. He looks great on this food, stays in shape and he isn’t “scouting the house for snacks” as he did on other foods because they had to be given in such small portions that it appeared to him as he hadn’t been fed at all. We’ll definitely stick to this food since it gave us back the silly ball of energy we love so much! … more
