Can you prepare(add water) a day. before if refrigerated?
Answer by • Jun 17, 2020
Once the freeze dried food is hydrated, it should be left out for the pet no longer than 1-2 hours. Shorter time if it is warm, muggy or in direct sunlight. The hydrated food can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, so if your pet doesn't eat all of their meal, it can be refrigerated and then used later.
About how many patties come in a 1lb bag?
Answer by • Oct 12, 2022
There are approximately 23 patties in the 14-ounce bag.
What is the approximate weight of each patty?
Answer by • Aug 19, 2020
Each freeze dried turkey patty weights approximately 0.5 - 0.6 ounces.
Can you warm this up in a microwave for a few seconds without losing nutritional value?
Answer by • Jun 17, 2020
It is recommended to not cook or heat this food in a microwave. To maintain the nutritional value, it’s important to keep the food raw and in its natural state.
Sharp bones was up all night with my dog who had one lodged in throat
My 17 yr old dog loves these however they have dangerous sharp bone in the patties even after taking most of them out he had one stuck in his throat and we were up til 2 am with him choking coughing and panting. I will be returning this

Quality Protein but Requires Handling
This brand and flavor has been a staple of our Shiba Inu’s raw diet. I am disappointed that the small nibbles product is no longer carried by Chewy’s. The appearance of the patty looks different from the freeze dried nibbles but my dog is still eating it as long as it’s reconstituted with water. I’d prefer not having to hand shred the patty and to have the old dry version as a feeding option.

All three dislike it.
We have a chi x, rat terrier and border collie. We started feeding them primal turkey and sardine which they loved. They were out of stock so we decided to try this brand of turkey. My poor border collie and rat terrier have been so sick since we switched. Really bad gas, vomiting and now won’t even go near the bowl. I had high hopes, but was disappointed. The bag came very crumbly, and the bone fragments either need to be bigger or ground down completely. They’re not a safe size for my dogs and they’re really sharp and jagged. Just not a good fit and not a brand I’d recommend.

Crushed patties
This is the 2nd bag of this product I've purchased and won't order again. Both times the bags were at least 50% broken into small pieces and powdered product instead of whole patties. It's very difficult to measure feeding amounts when they are supposed to be measured
by the patty. This company needs to be reformulate so that the patties hold together better.
Also, can do without the "God Bless America"
on the package.

Half powder
Unfortunately not sure if this batch is because of Fedex or not, half of the patties are broken into powder which will be hard for me to measure it to feed my dog. I used to buy Orijen patties. They may break in half but not in powder. With that said, these patties are great dog food providing best possible protein for my dog.

Dog loves them - read feeding label carefully!
We were looking for an add-in for our pup. The only concern that we have is the bag's label. Working with a vet nutritionist and online calculators, our dog of about 50 pounds (1.5 year old English Springer Spaniel) should receive roughly 1,300 calories a day. This bag states each patty is about 70 calories and a dog his size should only receive 8 patties a day - 560 calories?! He would be starving! Please be careful using the labels on these bags and discuss with a vet. Otherwise, the food is great and the cat even begs for it!

Fantastic product
I absolutely love these bars. They can be a meal, a snack, training tests or a topper. They break apart easily or can be given whole. I also always carry A bag of them as emergency food in the car. Easy to digest just make sure you have a lot of water available.

Variety for Long Life
I am blessed to have two small terriers who embrace a wide variety of recall-free brands and flavors, including this one. I serve a different one at each meal as we cycle through 20+ varieties every week. I believe that this helps reduce risk of nutrient deficiency or possible toxic overload from any one source.

Dog Love Them
I am using these with a dog with chewing issues. This is a great protein boost for the food he can eat with grains with a slightly lower protein content than I would like.

Looks great. Dog hates it.
The patties shipped well and looked great upon arrival.
My dog loves most of the other protein options from vital essentials (she does also hate the duck but likes duck as the main protein from other brands) that are in her freeze dried raw food rotation. She will not eat these dry or rehydrated with water or goat milk or bone broth. Since they are so expensive the rest will now be going to a family members more normal dog.... we'll go back to her preferred proteins.
