I have two, beautiful, very sweet, pups that are 90 pounds each. I wanted a pet gate to cover an area 77" wide as a barrier between my pups & people. The gate is a training aid to give my pups an opportunity to calm down before the new visitors come in the front door, as my pups still get excited and want to jump. This gate is described as "Tested to withstand up to 180 pounds of pull, this gate is a sturdy barrier for dogs..." Unfortunately, it is neither of those things. Reality is, it is unstable at the joints where the extensions go and it will come apart and or fall. Increasing the pressure on your walls, in an attempt to make the gate sturdier, will only damage your walls; it will not solve the problem. Learning from Waowao's mistakes, I could design a better gate but I do not have the ability to build it. If you have a tiny dog or a perfect pet that you are trying to keep out of an area, it will probably work. If you are looking for a pet gate that is "Tested to withstand up to 180 pounds of pull, this gate is a sturdy barrier for dogs..." this is not the gate for you. I am very disappointed in this gate. I will add one more opinion, I love Chewy, I just hate this gate.
