Hi, are the 12 oz cans now bpa free?

All of Wellness' plastic cups and cans are now BPA-free. Previously, the lids on their 12.5 ounce and 13.2 ounce sizes were the last to transition to BPA-free. To confirm that a 12.5 ounce or 13.2 ounce can is BPA-free, please look for an expiration date of March 2021 or later.

Manufactured in the USA doesn't mean the food is from the USA. What country is the chicken from?

The manufacturer will source their high-quality ingredients within the United States depending on availability. However, certain ingredients will need to be outsourced (i,e: Lamb, Venison, Duck, Rabbit, Vitamin Packs, etc.) to ensure top quality and freshness while meeting a reasonable price point for pet parents.

How long does the food go until it expires? Also if I bought a large can, can I cover it and let it sit in the fridge or will it go bad within a few days?

Wellness canned foods have an expiration of 3 years from date of manufacture.If the canned food is well covered or sealed from the surrounding environment, the food should last up to 3-4 days. It is advised to consume before this time. The storage conditions and general hygiene of the refrigerator, as well as how long the food has sit out exposed will have determining effects on the safe storage of the canned diets.

I used to feed them wellness for kittens when they were babies and switched to variety of others. Recently, one of my cats started acting finicky so I bought the same formula but for adults. As soon as I opened the can, both of them came RACING into the kitchen and when it was on their plates, gobbled it up. It's pricey, but it's a winner.

Very Disappointed

My Maine Coons will eat Wellness Signature Select shredded boneless chicken & turkey entree in sauce so I felt confident they would eat Wellness Complete Health

My Maine Coons will eat Wellness Signature Select shredded boneless chicken & turkey entree in sauce so I felt confident they would eat Wellness Complete Health Pate Chicken or Beef but I was so wrong. They would sniff it and quickly walk away never to return to it. I even waited a few days and offered it again with the same result. I have donated all cases purchased to local cat shelter. How a food produced by the same manufacturer can be so totally different to be totally refused by three cats is beyond comprehension. Buyer beware - don't make this mistake either.

..the pulltop cans are sometimes breaking and you then cannot open the can. I then tried a regular can opener but I found slivers if metal then in the food, So

They tolerate it when they are hungry.

They tolerate it when they are really hungry but they don’t really like it and only eat about half of an amount that I usually serve to them.

This is my cat’s favorite wet food, but out of 24 cans (I ordered 2 cases of 12.5oz cans), 13 arrived dented. Many of the dents were on the end seams and I could tell air had gotten into some of the cans by pressing on them. These are a health risk and need to be thrown out. Such a waste. I had to double check every single can to make sure the ones that looked safe were actually safe because some of the dents were barely noticeable, but after pressing on them, the surface of the cans would pop in and out, indicating air had gotten inside. After this experience, I wouldn’t order wet food from chewy again.
