Where are the Wellness Pate's manufactured?
Answer by ChewyJan 27, 2023
This food is made in North America with the world’s finest ingredients.

Hi, are the 12 oz cans now bpa free?
Answer by ChewyJan 17, 2019
All of Wellness' plastic cups and cans are now BPA-free. Previously, the lids on their 12.5 ounce and 13.2 ounce sizes were the last to transition to BPA-free. To confirm that a 12.5 ounce or 13.2 ounce can is BPA-free, please look for an expiration date of March 2021 or later.

Manufactured in the USA doesn't mean the food is from the USA. What country is the chicken from?
Answer by ChewyJan 21, 2018
The manufacturer will source their high-quality ingredients within the United States depending on availability. However, certain ingredients will need to be outsourced (i,e: Lamb, Venison, Duck, Rabbit, Vitamin Packs, etc.) to ensure top quality and freshness while meeting a reasonable price point for pet parents.

What is the calorie % from carbs?
Answer by ChewyApr 05, 2018
The Calorie percentage of Carbs is 0.24%.

I had my now 17 year old cat on this food. He was diagnosed as diabetic nearly two years ago. His last two labs showed his blood sugar in the normal range. No more insulin. I’m no longer feeding him the pate, he has moved on to a Rx formula for his thyroid issue.

Great food for 6 month old cats

I have two six-month old kittens (brothers, same litter) who I have transitioned from Wellness kitten food to this food (both turkey and chicken). It's a quality brand without the usual fillers and mystery meats. I much prefer these larger cans than opening so many smaller ones every day. I feed one can/day for both cats. They are growing fast.

Very healthy

I switched to this food from another canned food because the ingredients are better. And because it's a pate instead of shredded chicken, the cat that had vomiting problems doesn't vomit anymore.

Wellness Wet Food

My cats really like this food and they seem to only want to stick to it and it also is the only food that can keep weight on my diabetic cat but sometimes I get bad batches that are spoiled and I have to contact chewy they've been amazing and refund me for the spoiled batches but It's a bit of a bummer for chewy and me! I really want to change my cats food but I might have to stick with it because it keeps my diabetic cats weight at a healthy mark and they both seem to only want to eat it so until I find a better solution I'll have to keep buying it!

A pate that is actually a pate!

I just switched to Wellness brand when the brand I had been buying outsourced their manufacturing to Thailand and the change in their recipe made the food inedible (according to my cat, that is). It lost all cohesion as a pate, it smelled like cheap tuna cat food, instead of chicken , and looked bad (I thought it was spoiled at first!). Wellness chicken entree is vastly superior even to the original recipe of the old brand. "Smooth loaf" is what the label says and it is true of the contents, a smooth pate with small pieces of soft carrot, no "hard bits" like bits of bone or whole seeds that my geriatric cat feels she needs to sieve out with her teeth. Note that the Wellness brand does not contain any fish, no fish oil. Instead they get the beta carotene from *ground* flax seed. Therefore, it has a wonderful aroma, smells sooo good. Best of all, my cat loves it!

qulatiy is awful the product has changed

I've been buying this same food for my cat since he was adopted at 2, he's now 16 and it's terrible quality now! No longer smooth loaf (what a joke!) I buy by the case and every can is mostly wasted the cat won't eat it due to the food now being dark, hard, and chunky it makes me wonder is they're tossing in all kids of excess chicken parts that makes it unhealthy for him, not to mention wasting my money! He's only liked this specific one since he's picky so I've tried other ones and he never ate them so I'm sure now what to do

Formula change

The formula has changed or it's a bad batch. All the cans with expiration May 2023 are foul. My cat took a couple bites turned up her nose and walked off, then had bad diarrhea soon afterwards - she's a Manx with constipation issues, she doesn't get diarrhea. My other cat who will eat anything wouldn't touch it. My little Manx has been eating this for 5 years and loved it. Now she won't touch it and I have 2 whole flats of the stuff. No way would I risk donating it. This was the 3oz cans. I ordered the 5oz and hope to get older stock, it's the only food my cat could eat and we are desperate. Wellness why did you change a good thing?

Maybe it's just a bad lot!!!

Melissa and Stub report a change in recipe, but... Stub says the "change" was for cans somewhere between expiration dates Aug 24 and Jun 25. One recent order of mine, exp Jun 25, has exactly the problems Stub reported. BUT I have another case with exp 24 JULY 25 and it's fine! So maybe there's a problem with a manufacturing plant or just some lots out of one plant, but there is HOPE that Wellness has not deliberately changed the recipe! My sick baby won't eat anything else...

Didnt like it he wont even taste it

Waste of money Should include a 12 pack of the 3oz instead of 24 being the lowest for this very reason He wont touch it lick it taste it or anything That was money I absolutely did not have to waste ugh
