I was on the hunt for a small-portion wet cat food with tiny pieces and lots of gravy for my two cats, Mazi and Cynder. They primarily eat dry food, but I want to make sure they get some moisture in their diet. The Wellness Complete Health line caught my eye—especially the Salmon & Whitefish Dinner—because the packaging suggested it had small chunks and plenty of gravy, which is exactly what my girls prefer. The 1.32 oz portions are ideal since they don’t eat much wet food, and I appreciated that it’s grain-free and formulated to support five signs of well-being: energy, skin and coat health, digestion, immunity, and dental health. The variety of flavors is a nice touch, and the packaging is easy to separate and open. Unfortunately, the real test was a letdown. Cynder wouldn’t even taste it, and Mazi gave it a try but immediately tried to bury it—her usual sign of rejection. I offered it several times over the course of a week, hoping they were just being picky, but neither cat would touch it. I really wanted this to work for them, but sadly, it’s a no-go in our household.

I really like the idea behind Wellness Complete Health Purrfect Duos Salmon & Whitefish — great ingredients, nice texture, and a brand I trust. Unfortunately, my three cats weren’t as enthusiastic as I’d hoped. They’re more into pâté than the chunky-in-gravy style, so it might just be a texture preference. The split-and-serve pouch is convenient in theory, though with three cats I ended up opening a few at once (and let’s just say that fishy aroma travels fast!). Still, I appreciate the freshness and quality of the food. It’s clear this is a well-made product — it just didn’t win over my picky crew this time. I’ll definitely try another flavor or texture from Wellness next!

The item arrived quickly and undamaged so that’s a good start! The variety of flavors was good as there was plenty to choose from. I chose the Salmon & Whitefish Dinner Cuts in Gravy. The lid is a bit difficult to peel back when opening the little containers but they’re secure so I don’t have to worry about accidental leaks. My cat seems to really enjoy the food so that’s definitely a win. It also doesn’t smell too pungent as some wet foods tend to do.

I also loved that real protein was the first ingredient. As a mom to senior kitties, it is important to me that their meals help to maintain hydration.
