FAQ

What is the shelf life of Wellness Natural Pet Food?

Wellness dry foods have an expiration of 18 months from date of manufacture. Wellness canned foods have an expiration of 3 years from date of manufacture. Dog & cat plastic have an expiration of 2 years from date of manufacture.

What does "natural" pet food mean?

Natural means we use ingredients that are derived from plants, animals and minerals in our recipes and that Wellness pet food contains no artificial preservatives or colors.

Why do your products sometimes vary in size, shape, color, texture or aroma?

Wellness products are natural, and as a result, you may experience product that looks slightly different in texture, color, shape, aroma and consistency from time to time. This is a function of natural products in general, but also raw material fluctuations and the manufacturing process. Please be assured that even though the product may look different from batch to batch, its superior nutritional value, palatability and safety does not change.

Why are some Guaranteed Analysis (GA) levels minimums and others maximums? Do you choose how to list them?

Minimum and maximum claims for each nutrient are established by AAFCO. The only necessary claims a pet food must make are for Crude Protein, Fat, Fiber, and Moisture.* Protein is always a minimum claim* Fat is always a minimum claim* Fiber is always a maximum claim* Moisture is always a maximum claimWhile these are the only nutrients mandated by AAFCO to carry min/max claims, ash may voluntarily be listed, but must be listed as a maximum guarantee. Any vitamins, minerals or live microorganisms (probiotics) may be labeled with a minimum guarantee. We're proud to be 1 of the only pet food manufacturers who are able to include guaranteed levels of probiotics on our dry food recipes. Probiotics can help improve digestion and immune system function.

  • My kiddos LOVE these!!

    By on

I have 3 fur babies, 2 yorkies and a tiny Chi. I am not into giving a lot of treats and am very careful to provide healthy ones when I do. In fact, I cut one biscuit in half and the 2 Yorkies share it, the Chi gets a quarter. They absolutely gobble these healthy treats down and I feel good about the ingredients!

  • Marrow is so good for you!

    By on

Good quality treat. Wish the cooked marrow was the first or second ingredient instead of seventh. Also wish the treats weren't so big. We have a 7 and an 11 pound fur babies. So I cut them in half for our smallest pup. I love that the calories per treat is stated.

  • Fussy Dog - Not Interested!

    By on

I have a Westie that loves chicken and turkey, but she doesn’t seem interested in these what-so-ever. I’m not blaming the manufacturer, as it’s probably just my dog! Sorry folks, this was a no go!

  • Not for Forrest

    By on

Well.....my dog won't eat them. I put a handful in a dish and he hasn't taken one. It's been three days now. Guess I will donate them to the local animal shelter.

  • Loves them!

Our girl is enjoying her snacks and keeping them down. She hardly gets treats because she has issues with getting sick but these are great for her!

  • Great dog treats!

    By on

These are grain-free and apparently taste so good that my independent-thinking terrier will do anything I ask in order to get one. Plus they’re somewhat soft so can be easily broken into smaller pieces to make them go farther.

Dakota gives them a 10 star rating! Loves them and the nice thing is you can break them into smaller pieces to prolong the treat!

My Rottweilers LOVE these treats. I had no clue what loving a treat was until my fiancé found these. They'd backflip for these treats.

  • Soft & sweetly gamey-smelling...

Not my fave....reminiscent of gaines burgers (in scent)....these are very soft. Not ideal.

  • New Grain Free treat

    By on

My two loved these new treats as soon as I dolled them out. I give them one each after their dinner, and "That's all" and they're happy campers.
