No takers here

I bought this for our 10 month old Norwegian Elkhound. She is one of those dogs who thinks she is starving so gobbles up food as fast as you can put it in her dish. She not only isn't eating this but pieces that drop out of her mouth are still on the floor. Anything added-- white chicken meat, cheese, a few drops of milk are consumed and the Wellness Protein puppy food is ignore. 1:30. Breakfast is still untouched. Bummer. Expensive.

Good ingredients

I did months of research on dog nutrition before my pup came home. I then tried 3 different high-quality (and expensive) foods before settling on this one. My pup had diarrhea with all of them until I tried this one!! She loves the taste gobbles it down. I like this one bc it is one of the HIGHEST protein content kibbles I’ve found (I don’t want to go raw) & it doesn’t have peas, wheat or corn. I tried the Wellness Raw Rev, but her stomach didn’t like it which is strange bc she does fine with all of the freeze-dried raw treats I give her.

2 Boxer Puppies Not Crazy About It

Our 2 six-month old Boxer Puppies have been challenging to find a food they will eat for more than a couple of days. They liked this at first BUT when I tried the Wellness Core RawRev Puppy with Health Grains they stopped eating this one because they went NUTS for the RawRev and can’t get enough of it. They might have been okay if I hadn’t compared this with the RawRev - that’s okay though. Happy to have found a happy favorite for them in the RawRev. Wellness is an awesome company and makes great products. Glad we found them overall.

He loves it!

Our 9 month old Aussie puppy started boycotting his food. We originally thought it might be because his growth had started to slow, so he just wasn't as hungry. We also supplement with greek yogurt and fresh veggies, and we started noticing he would snarf that stuff down but his kibble would remain untouched. That is when I decided to research a new brand and came across CORE. I originally purchased the smallest bag and mixed it with his original puppy food. He instantly began SORTING EACH PIECE, eating only the CORE pieces! He loves it! All of the potential changes you look for when switching food have been non-issues; his energy level remains good, his stools are consistent and his coat is as beautiful as always. This food is a winner in our book!

Excellent puppy food

I ordered this food to transition from the food from the breeder (diamond). My puppy immediately loved this food. The ingredient list, protein content, and percentage of animal protein is incredible! I wish this came in a bigger bag like the adult version. I have since switched to Orijen puppy food but I am still mixing this in daily so she can have some good grains.

Great ingredients

This dog food has great ingredients but my pup did NOT care for the taste. Was worried she was ill but switched to the IAMS large breed puppy and her appetite mysteriously returned :). Anyways, super great ingredients but doesn’t really matter if I can’t get my dog to eat it.

Gave my puppy gas and made him fat.

I really wanted to love this food. I researched so many types of food before I picked this food for my beagle puppy. It gave him the WORST GAS!!! It literally caused my husband to vacate the couch on several occasions when the dog was on the couch. It also caused puppy to have mushy stool that was like mashed potatoes. Which meant that when puppy had an accident in the house it was AWFUL to clean up. Anyway, I switched puppy to a different Wellness brand puppy food with less than 30% protein and the flatulence went away and his stool firmed up. The vet also said that puppy was fat and mentioned how hard it is to make a puppy fat (he gets 2-3 walks a day and plays with an energetic 7 yr old who is stuck at home due to distance learning!!). I can’t recommend this food since it made my 4 month old puppy fat, caused him to have really mushy poops, and caused the most offensive gas I have ever smelled from a dog.

I really wanted to like it but...

I was excited to transition my puppy from Purina to Wellness, after reading all the great reviews. My puppy was having GI issues with Purina. After the transition, her GI issues improved remarkably (hence the 3 stars) but there was no way she’d eat the food. She just didn’t like it. I had to come out with different ways for her to eat it, dog puzzles, adding something she liked to the food, and even with that, it was challenging. The food is evidently good quality, since her GI issues resolved. However, the pup needs to enjoy it as well. In the end I transitioned to Science Diet and she now enjoys her food again!

Holy Schmokes! they love it

My pups absolutely loved these kibbles. My vet told me not to get anything that grain-free because they end up taking out a lot of essential vitamins for pups since they are in growth phase. And I had alit of trouble finding one that was NOT grain-free. What’s with this whole grain-free movement now?? This whole, get your dog on a diet because you’re too lazy to exercise him?? Anyways, that’s a topic for another time. Going back to this food!! They all love it!! I purchase it now only this. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it. Since the pups are in growth phase and needs a lot of protein and such to grow.
