This placemat measures 20.75 inches long by 13.5 inchs wide by 0.75 inches thick.

Is it mostly rigid or more like a floppy silicone mat?

This place mat is "in-between" as far as flexibility and stiffness. It is not a rigid hard plastic, but it is not as soft and flexible as silicone. If they are familiar with our toys, it is made out of our Seaflex material which is similar but a little stiffer than their Zogoflex material.

I ordered this mat for 2 of my elevated cat bowls since they are put on a carpeted area next to the linoleum where the other elevated cat bowls are located. I have 5 cats that I feed indoors and I had a cover to a huge Rubbermaid storage container I was using. It needed to be replaced and I found this West Paw placement on Chewy and the reviews were good so I ordered it. It is PERFECT! It easily cleans up and it is a solid mat that you can lift without it bending. It is stiff for that purpose. Works great for me and my cats. Best item I could've found to replace that lid that was just a temporary thing to cover the rug area where I feed a couple cats. Thank you Chewy for helping me find what I needed again and again!!! Love Chewy!!!

I hate to give it a lower rating, because I think the company is great and the materials are quality, but this does not catch much water from my golden’s mouth after drinking at all. Should probably not be marketed toward dogs of all sizes.

Exactly what I needed

My cat is a very messy eater, and for years we had to deal with her pushing her dishes all around, spreading dry cat food everywhere, and knocking over her water

My cat is a very messy eater, and for years we had to deal with her pushing her dishes all around, spreading dry cat food everywhere, and knocking over her water dish. This heavy duty, rubbery mat lays flat stays put on the floor, keeps my cat's food and water dishes in place, and catches any stray kibble or water dribbles. My only regret is not getting one sooner. Highly recommended.
