Feeding Instructions

SPORTMIX Wholesomes Beef Meal & Rice Formula Food for Dogs may be fed dry or moistened according to your dog’s preference. If moist food is preferred, mix 4 parts SPORTMIX Wholesomes Beef Meal & Rice with 1 part water, milk or broth. Use the chart as a guide. One feeding per day is acceptable; however, two feedings each of one half the daily requirement is recommended. Remember, these amounts are averages and will vary depending upon the breed, size and age of your dog. Have clean fresh water available at all times. For your pet’s best health, see your veterinarian regularly.

Transition Instructions

On days 1 & 2 of the change, you should have plenty of your pet's old food left. Fill the bowl with 3 quarters of the old food, and one quarter of SPORTMiX Wholesomes. On days 3 & 4, add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half SPORTMiX Wholesomes. On days 5 & 6, mix one quarter old food and 3 quarters SPORTMiX Wholesomes. In only 7 days, your pet will be on an all-new diet of SPORTMiX Wholesomes.

Do any ingredients in this dog food come from China.

SPORTMIX sources all ingredients from US suppliers if ingredients are available, grown or produced in the US. The lamb meal comes from Australia or New Zealand and the flaxseed comes from Canada. The vitamin premixes are formulated, sourced and blended in the United States by a US company in a human grade facility. Certain subparts of the vitamin premixes are only available overseas but rest assure their US supplier makes every effort to source from reputable non-Chinese vendors.

can this be fed to a giant breed dog such as mastiff, great dane, etc.?

This recipe is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for Adult Maintenance. Formulated levels for Calcium for adult maintenance range from 0.5 to 2.5% on a dry matter basis or 0.45 to 2.25% on as-fed basis. Formulated levels for Phosphorus for adult maintenance range from 0.4 to 1.6% on a dry matter basis or 0.36 to 1.44% on as-fed basis.

What are the calcium and phosphorous ratios?

This formula contains a Calcium content of 0.6% and a phosphorus content of 0.5% on an as-fed basis. On a Dry Matter basis, it has a Calcium content of 0.7% and a Phosphorus content of 0.6%.

love sensitive skin and stomach and for dogs and puppies!

I’m a breeder so unless I want to feed my adults and puppies the fromms puppy food I need something they can both eat because let’s face it they’re not going to only eat out of their own bowls! This has great ingredients and everyone likes it so now I can save the fromms for my new litters since it’s tiny crunchy pieces perfect for training little puppies to eat crunchy food! The mom eats fromms puppy with the litter so this works and I love the varieties of real protein there is! I will say that all of my adult dogs no longer have dog bad breath (which I know I’m sick but I LOVE) but people kind of bad breath (which I HATE)!!!! That’s the only thing I would say needs to be fixed bug of course I have no idea how!
