Optimize is ideal for dogs, cats, and ferrets. The food is intended to be used as an addition to any commercial dry or canned pet food.

Does this need to be refrigerated

The Optimize™ products are shelf stable at room temperature and do not require refrigeration. We do recommend keeping the product in reasonable conditions (tightly sealed and kept in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight).

Last 6 bags have all been bad

I've been getting this for years for my pets. However, the last 6 bags (bought 2 at a time spread out over a couple months) have all been bad. Normally the chunks

I've been getting this for years for my pets. However, the last 6 bags (bought 2 at a time spread out over a couple months) have all been bad. Normally the chunks are white, and absorb water. These bags most of the chunks are brown, and don't absorb any water, and the pets refuse to eat it. I'll be looking for another brand

I bought the salmon food topper for my dog and it's consistency was more of a food powder. My dog ate the few chunks and left the rest. I ended up having to throw away the remainder of her food. The second time after she ate the few chunks I added a little broth to mix the powder with the dry food and she refused to eat it. I wouldn't recommend this product for a dog.

I'm trying to slim my Aussie down a bit. Wysong recommended that I reduce her adult kibble and add more protein by using the Optimize product. I was concerned when opening it because it looked so dry and powdery but, shook it up as the package recommended and added it to her food. She loves it! Is anxious to eat and cleans her dish. Just ordered the beef/liver and chicken varieties to give her a change. Chewy was the only place I could find this product, not available locally.

My dogs are not the biggest fish fans and can be very picky. I try to sneak it in once in a while. Treats and other offerings will sit out forever if I don't pick them up and throw out. At first they didn't seem too interested in this but after a couple of tries they really enjoyed this product as a food topper. The ingredients look fantastic. Will buy again.
