7 Customer Questions
Will this lamp work for geckos?
Answer by • Mar 29, 2020
This bulb does not provide enough heat for geckos.
Can this be used to warm hermit crab tank
Answer by • Apr 06, 2020
Hermit crabs are happiest kept at 72 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (22 to 27 degrees Celsius). This bulb may be used however, you'd want to keep it further away from the habitat. Please click on the attached photo to reference the heating guide. Be sure to provide a light-dark cycle, such as 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark. This means day-glow or fluorescent bulbs should only be off at night, though special nighttime bulbs can be used if desired.
Does it give UVB light?
Answer by • Apr 28, 2024
This full-spectrum light emits UVA rays from 315 nanometers to 400 nanometers and doesn't have any UVB lighting at the moment.
If used for about 8 hours a day how long should it last?
Answer by • May 18, 2020
The manufacturer recommends replacing the UV bulb every 3,500 hours. So, if you have your light on 9.5 hours a day that means about once per year. Find out the ideal amount of time your specific reptile or amphibian requires UV lighting. Then, do the math to determine the point at which you will reach 3,500 hours by calculating how long the light is on per day.
