I brought the larger size. There was no visible dust, and the pieces are not sharp at all. Use for pets with low humidity needs as it doesn’t hold moisture. I’m using this for a corn snake.
Very nice quality, lower in dust than other products and always bright in color and fresh smelling. The chip size is great for trapping snake waste, and they seem to enjoy tunneling through it. Keeps the cage dry and clean. The largest bag size is perfect for filling larger enclosures.
This litter is very good. Holds up well is lightweight for animals that bury and cleans up well.
Im working on breeding my Kenyan Sand Boas, I also use the product for my ball pythons. It works fine for the pythons, reptichip usually works better for them but this will absolutely do the trick! For my sand boas though... this is by far the best substrate I’ve found. My tanks are half sand and half aspen litter... it also works for rodents. This is something I will always purchase!
I would not recommend this product as multiple bags contain mites. The first time, we thought of it as just the area we lived in but after spending a month getting rid of the mites and using another bedding we went back to this product which during that same time the mites we're back so I would recommend using another bedding.
I've been looking EVERYWHERE for this bedding. My pet store used to sell it and I couldn't remember what it was called and lo and behold chewy sells it! My corn snake LOVES this bedding, he loves to burrow and this is just perfect for that, other bedding holds it's shape after he burrows and it gets all bunched up but this stuff goes right back where it was, I love seeing his little head pop out! Love love love it! Only complaint is that I bought a tree limb for his cage as well and it punctured the bedding in shipping, no biggie though.
I’m using this in my ball python racks instead of the traditional aspen. I must say that it’s been great for them. It can be misted if needed for humidity and provides enrichment like borrowing. I highly recommend this or other aspen bedding for ball pythons and colubrids
I've used this for my Kenyan sand boa and he enjoyed it. Its loose ad act's more like sand therefore it doesn't really hold tunnels well.
My baby is going on 9 and he loves to check out new items in his home. ❤️❤️. I got this to try been using regular aspen. But I like this a lot better glad I ordered.
This is my absolute favorite substrate to use for my corn snake and my Californian king snake. It's soft, easy to store, and easy to clean up. It's easy to burrow in, and my snakes love to tunnel through it. It's difficult to find in stores so I'm very grateful to be able to buy this in large amounts from this site. Highly recommend for snake owners that need aspen bedding.
