Is it a clamp on or does it rest on top of my tank?

This kit does not have a clamp. The Deep Dome extends beyond the face of the lamp preventing the lamp from “sticking out”.
does this have 2 plug ins? one for each light?

Convenient for switching lighting modes

The photos do not do it justice. I was wondering how we'd switch from day to night lighting, thinking there would be a toggle switch (my preference), but one can't tell at all from this one photo. However, each lamp has its own cord with a switch on the cord, making it simple to switch one off and the other on. Not ideal, as it requires you to use two outlets, but still better than having to switch out lightbulbs on one lamp -- often when the bulbs are still hot! Not as good as a single plug with a toggle switch to swap between each day/night mode, though a lot cheaper than an automated system with timers. Good purchase!
