Zoo Med Repti Cooler

It’ll be turned on and then 30 minutes later I’ll hear it start dripping into my enclosure and then when you try and move it it just starts pouring out every which way from the bottom so I don’t really know what the whole problem is with it not being able to hold water like it claims after the first time I keep putting less and less water but it doesn’t seem to matter I haven’t my skink in quarantine due to somehow getting mites and it’s just annoying to constantly change out the paper towels or cardboard hides I make for him

I bought this at a local pet store and it works great for my salamander tank. The humidity is where it should be and it keeps the temps down greatly. Until it started dumping the entire water resivior after a few seconds. So I took it apart thinking the float was stuck, lifted it up filled the rest with water while the top was off and it worked fine.. let it sit for a short period of time. Came back to my area flooded. So next step was to refill and watch, after about 3 minutes the float wasn't shutting off the flow of water. So I went ahead and adjusted it by heating the plastic and bending until it flowed perfectly.. put the lid back on same issue. So took it back apart and found the o-ring that seals the resivior also had failed, so super glued the res onto the float and fixed that. Put it back together and it still was dumping water, so I shined a light into the fan slots and found the Styrofoam float was to long and that the fan was forcing it down so it wouldn't shut off the water flow. So I took it apart and trimmed it down. After all the issues and having to modify the device it works even better and I'd buy it again. It's not a bad lil swamp cooler for your reptiles just could use some improvements. Overall I'd recommend it as it does what it's intended to do.

Honestly great product especially when you have the Environmental control system really makes having a little friend easy! It helps maintain temps like nothing else!
