Will cat liter fall through and keep the smaller cat droppings? Having trouble finding the right sized holes.

Although designed to use with your terrarium, this scoops holes are small enough to allow the litter to fall through and leave larger pieces.

Will this work for aquarium sand (approx. 1 mm diameter)?

This scooper is designed for sand substrates. It is recommended that a more solid scooper is used for walnut bedding.

I bought this to try to remove some dust from cat litter (my cat has asthma. I get low dust litter, but this was a very dusty batch. And if you also try this, do it outside/well ventilated). It works very well for that. The deep and rounded shape works well to shake out dust, so I assume it would work well for sifting sand too.

Perfect for my cat box!

This is awesome if you want your cat to have a clean box! It picks up the tiniest particles & is perfect for her and me both. I highly recommend it.

great for sifting litter

Bug sifter

I've been using this to sift through my feeder bugs for my reptiles rather than picking through it by hand. It works well but it doesn't all sift through since this

I've been using this to sift through my feeder bugs for my reptiles rather than picking through it by hand. It works well but it doesn't all sift through since this isn't what it's intended for. However it would definitely work well as a sand scoop so I'm giving it 5 stars.

Not great for a cat litter "get the itty bits" scooper

(rating 5 stars since i bought it for a different purpose than designed for) Living with cats AND OCD is not easy.. I find i like the really wide rake scoops to quickly get through litter and get the big stuff out but, any cat owner knows, little bitty bits happen no matter how we try. SO, i thought something like this would work to get those remnants. Some reviewers said it was the answer for them. Well, I guess it depends on how fine your cat litter is. The mesh wire is pretty tightly woven on this scoop (no prob for reptile sand). Sadly, my various litter brands are not fine enough for this item to work for me. maybe Ill find something in kitchen utensils?! (pray for me)
