These lamps need specific line voltages; they cannot be used with dimmers/rheostats.
Yes! This lamp provides the full visible spectrum as well as UVA and UVB. What is UVB and why does my reptile need it?
No. This lamp emits UVA and UVB without heat!
This lamp will provide optimum levels of UVB for 12 months so it should be replaced once a year.
This lamp should be placed 12 inches from your animals basking site.
This lamp should be on for 10 – 12 hours a day to maintain your animals day and night cycle.
I had turned this on the first morning I got it and off after 14 hrs and the next morning it was blown. I am very upset.
Bulb didn’t work properly and burned out within an hour.
I had to replace my UVB light and ordered the same size as the one I had. While it fits in the fixture, it's substantially skinnier than the old bulb.
This last one I bought stopped working after only 4 weeks, and I have had bulbs in the past that lasted months longer than that. I don't recommend these.
As a multi-pet owner, I try to provide the BEST care for all of my pets....including the reptiles! This Sun lamp is my favorite! I use it in my green iguana's enclosure, just remember to change them out every 6 months for the perfect UVB exposure.
I've received my box on time however it was messed up. I didn't think much of it but when I placed the bulb in, nothing happened. I reversed it, flipped it, nothing worked. So now I have no uvb for my Uromastyx.
It's just the tube. I searched everywhere on this listing to try and make sure I knew I was getting a lamp, because I needed one. Now my bearded dragon will need to wait to get her uvb. You should probably make it clearer.
I try to always get my uvb strips from chewy as they have the best price for the size!
Chewy does not specify the size of the bulb is T8. I should have looked closer or not bought this. T8 is the traditional standard size of lightbulb for reptile habitats but more recently T5 size fixtures are available online--I have a T5 fixture. Zoo Med makes T5 lightbulbs and many online retailers carry the T5 and T8 bulbs. Chewy does not state which size they carry. I ordered this by mistake, thinking I had finally found the T5 size bulbs I wanted. Wrong. If Chewy had put more of the import size details of the bulk in the item description. Sure, its my fault for buying before I was certain I had found the correct item, but it is also Chewy's fault for not including the bulb size (not talking about length) when most other online retailers do include that detail. I would not have ordered from Chewy at all if I had know this was coming. Extremely disappointing online shopping experience.
Our turtle needs a UVB light to maintain it's proper health. The light fits perfect and the shipping and cost were fantastic! All came in perfect condition.
