Our dog is not a heavy chewer, she has vinyl toys that have lasted for well over a year. We've tried two of these warthog toys and both have only lasted about a day before there is a big tear in the side and she's ripping the stuffing out. I wish it was more durable because it's cute and the squeaker isn't annoying.
Sadly, I cannot recommend this to any pups that have even a medium-chew energy level. Our pup (35 lbs, 5 months) has a ton of stuffies, balls, etc that he’s happily enjoyed for months without destroying. We got this guy TODAY (ordered because it was recommended by chewy’s algorithm for the super chewers and had pretty good reviews) and poor warthog lasted 15 minutes before the ears were torn off and stuffing started coming out- bummer! We will have to stick to the trustypaws/kong/barkbox/zippypaws family of toys like we usually do moving forward. Oh well, live and learn (and to be fair, he was deliriously happy for those 15 minutes, haha)
Nyssa loves her new toy, she drags him around everywhere, even to dinner
Loads for fun for the pup. Thank you
My 2 dogs love this. It makes an obnoxious sound but they love it so that’s all that matters.
Some dogs love squeakers, but some like grunt toys instead. We’ve had to order several not because of them being destroyed, but because it’s one dog lives it so much so we have some on reserve. Then she taught dog who ignored squeaker toys the joys of grunting hogs and now we’ve had yo order one for that dog too!
My 4 month old border Collie puppy wants everything in his mouth. He chews but doesn't tend to rip things. He absolutely LOVES this toy. And so does my husband. He says he wants one too. :) It goes outside as a fetch toy and hangs in the crate as a forgiving friend. I am less forgiving when my puppy chews on me. We are going on 6 weeks with this toy at his disposal daily and so far not one rip or tear.
I got one of these from a friend and my dog LOVES it. She has never loved a toy this much- she carries it around like a security blanket. She normally chews up toys, but for some reason this one she hasn’t! I will say if your dog chews up everything, this would be easy to chew up. It’s also not a high pitched annoying squeaker which is a nice change of pace! I’m going to buy a bunch more from chewy to have extras :)
Excellent sounding squeaker, not annoying at all. I love the deeper ones because my pup can just squeak away without my brain popping. He also adored it... until the incident. One day I discovered it wheezing instead of squealing and upon inspection i discovered a fracture in it's skull- the head was split open. My pup is about 3 months old, a labrador, and he is an active chewer but not a tough one- he just likes the feeling and the squeaks, not for destruction. It lasted maybe a week which is unfortunate because we both liked it, and couldn't be fixed since it's plastic... Despite this the joy of the one-two weeks was worth it... i think...
This silly toy gives our Bernedoodle and our family great joy. It makes a true snorting noise instead of a squeak. Cracks me up. It's like having a Disney character as a toy. Dog loves it too!
