Feed an Adult 6 - 8 lb cat or a 3 lb kitten 1 can twice a day. Adjust as needed for your cat's age and activity level.
When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to the new product over a 5-7 day period. Replace 15-20% of the current diet with the new product each day until they are fully transitioned. If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of the new product fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals and increase over time. As always, we also recommend checking with your veterinarian for the most accurate feeding recommendations for your pet. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10-14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.
Why I like 9 Lives Meaty Pate With Real Chicken (pros): - The smell doesn't make me want to vomit - It is cheap - It has fewer ingredients than other low-cost cat foods - The cats like it Why I dislike 9 Lives Meaty Pate With Real Chicken (cons): - It has small bones and who knows what else (see photo) Still, I would recommend it to someone looking for a low-cost canned cat food. I do NOT recommend 9 Lives Meaty Pate Super Supper. It is quite disgusting, and the cats do not like it.
I'm fostering a cat that was attacked by a coyote and can only eat pate because of a cracked palate. He is able to eat this with no problem. As for my own cats, they don't seem to like it. Don't know why.
The 9 Lives Seafood Platter was a hit with all my cats. The 9 Lives Real Chicken was not. Not sure why. I would recommend the seafood platter. Other cats may like the Real Chicken.
I usually buy more expensive cat food for my cats but lately they've gotten 'picky' over Fancy Feast, so I picked up a cheap can of 9 Lives! Of course they love it and prefer it to the more expensive brand. Guess as long as they eat something, it's better than not eating the Dollar a Can, 3 oz Fancy Feast!!! (Price including shipping)
I bought this for the stray cats we've been feeding. they like this pate a lot. this was the least expensive wet pate cat food I could find for the 3 stray kitties. the reason for 4 stars is the ingredients. I would never feed this to my indoor kitty.
We feed eight "porch kitties". We use 9Lives because it is good quality and they like it. We have to use this less expensive food because all of our indoor only rescues are on prescription diets and medications for various conditions.
We have 30 or so cats. The out door cats like this brand!
Always get quality products an quick shipping and my cats love it!
9 Lives is always a good product my only fault with them is metal cans instead of aluminum. I can recycle aluminum and they are easy to clean, but metal not so much.
Must have changed the recipe. My outside cats used to love this food before it “went away” and came back. Now they won’t touch it. Even the raccoon that comes around won’t eat it. Won’t be buying again.
