Are these cooked before being freeze dried or raw?

The manufacturer does use heat as a kill step before freeze drying, so it is somewhat cooked before freeze drying.

These freeze-dried treats seemed a little too dried up. In fact they were kind of rubbery and my kitty choked on two of them. That was enough for both of us. I threw

Too expensive for organic and freeze dried, please stream-line your process

I have bought A Better Treat for a long time specifically because it is a higher quality product. I was baffled opening up this new organic package to see that it

I have bought A Better Treat for a long time specifically because it is a higher quality product. I was baffled opening up this new organic package to see that it was more than half empty and I paid $16.99 which is a dollar more than the non-organic brand and I thought it would be equal in size. They use the same size bag as the original which I find to be a pretty manipulative tactic given that it's actually just 2 oz not 3 oz as the original bag is. Needless to say this is an atrocious amount of money for a tiny amount of treats and sadly, I would not recommend buying this.

I love the simple ingredients and high quality of these treat. My dogs love freeze dried chicken and this one was no exception. I also love that the pieces are small and perfect for giving as training treats.

The most important thing about a better treat is that both of our dogs love them. As soon as I opened the bag our active little “Dorky” beat out the “Husky Lab” at the head of the line. Having your dogs love a treat is a must but a better treat has another advantage that I loved. The treats are small and irregularly shaped, kinda of like a small pebble. The size and shape of the treat made it very easy to take with you and give it to one of your own or all the friends you have now made in the neighborhood.

I usually cook my dog a whole chicken to just use as treats, but I love having these on hand for traveling or if we just run out of fresh chicken before I make the next one. Love!
