Doof likes it just fine

A Strong Heart Porterhouse Flavor is a pate style 3.5 ounce cup of wet dog food made right here in the USA. That already earns at least one star from me. I haven't been able to track where the ingredients are sourced from, which was one of the reasons this didn't get five stars. It only states that they are globally sourced which makes me leary. The ingredients are ok, the first being beef, but, just a few in, we find meat by-products, something else I generally steer away from. This is reason number two for the four star rating. Doof, my 9.5 year old Staffordshire terrier, has issues with his gut, so I fed only half of this small cup as a treat, on two consecutive days. He loved the taste, had no weird issues, like gas or rumbling belly, and his voiding was normal, all good signs. As far as canned, wet food goes, this is, I would say, a higher end, mid range food. My issues with it are strictly preference as Doof was of the opinion that none of it mattered, and he gave it five paws.

It spread easily and wasn’t messy to work with. Overall, it was well received and easy to serve, which I appreciated.

That small change in consistency made all the difference. He’s gobbling it up. Ours is the Porterhouse Steak flavor and we’re down to just 3 tubs out of 12 received.

Big plus in my book. I would recommend giving these a go as an extra treat in their food or as a food serving alone.
