Tried this turkey flavored soft food from A Strong Heart. My dogs both liked the flavor and the texture of it. I mixed it with some of their regular kibble since you always want to start slow with a new food, and they acted like it was some sort of fancy topper. I would have given five stars except I don't think I would feed this every day since it seems like more of a treat. I think i might even blend it with some water, and add to a reusable food pouch to use for walks.

Our Bichon and our Mini Poodle eat Royal Canin kibble routinely. To it, I have been adding a tablespoon of RV pate for their skin and coat. So, I just substituted this pate, A Strong Heart Turkey Recipe pate for the RC. As with any food change they both declined it. To be fair, our Bichon is a picky eater at the best of times. I waited a few days, and tried again. Gave them small nibbles of the pate alone, before mixing it with their kibble. They seemed to like it. However, I doubt I would switch them permanently.

I use it as a topper for her meals because she isn’t the biggest food fan- and it is definitely a hit! She gets excited for her meals when she smells me open this food. It seems like a good price as well.

She was so very interested in it that she knocked me over. We advanced to a full size helping every few days as a treat so as not to throw her stomach off. As soon as she sees me grab it, that old girl perks up and is raring to eat her breakfast. I know its good because I hear her collar hitting the metal bowl as she licks it clean.

When opened it had little steel for me but my dogs seem to smell it right off and were eager to get it in their bowls. It is a solid with no visible moisture. Easy to spoon out of the container. You could probably turn it upside down and dump it out as well. When I put it down for the dogs to eat it was gone before my hand was off the bowl. I would say this was a big hit with them.
