Does sourced from around the world include ingredients from China?

Acana has stated the following regarding where their ingredients are sourced from: "We do not source any meat ingredients from China for any of our formulas. While many of our ingredients are coming from US and Canada, Our strong network enables us to source only the best, including lamb from New Zealand, fish from Scandinavia, and other premium ingredients from our neighbors. No matter what, every ingredient we choose is selected for its nutritional value, digestibility, and superior flavor. Our focus when sourcing ingredients for ORIJEN and ACANA has always been on using ingredients from suppliers we know and trust. Part of this commitment is choosing suppliers with the technical expertise and discipline to give us the best ingredients available. While we do not source ingredients directly from China, some of our B vitamins are made with raw materials that originate in China. This would apply to vitamins B1 and B6, and is consistent throughout the pet food industry. We require that any vitamin components sourced from China must be human grade, and as such, they undergo intensive testing to ensure the purity of the ingredient and the accuracy of the blend. "

The one thing I noticed when I opened the first can is you can see actual chunks of real food in it: carrots, potatoes and other vegetables. My dog was a little apprehensive at first, but then dug right in. By her 2nd feeding, she couldn't wait to have it again. The smell isn't strong - like other canned dog foods - it actually has a mild, meaty aroma. I would suggest adding a little water to the food and warming it up a bit - my dog liked it MUCH better this way. One major thing to note...these are 12.8 oz cans and the feeding recommendation for an adult dog is 1/2 - 2/3 of a can PER 10 pound dog per day. Which means if you have a 50 pound dog, you need to feed it approx. 2 1/2 to 3 1/3 cans per day. Unfortunately, this would be quite pricing for us to do, so we use it as a topper on her food and that has worked out perfectly. She is getting her dry food, along with the added nutrition of the canned.

Only complaint is that it has a pretty strong smell, which can be expected with canned pet food. But be warned, the smell is pretty strong. I wouldn't say it's a particularly bad smell but it does linger.

We gradually switched our 2 dogs and puppy to Acana. Once they were weened fully from the other food and solely on this food, wet and dry, all 3 got diarrhea and 3 days later, blood in all 3 dogs' diarrhea. We switched them without weening, and the diarrhea was immediately gone.

I used the ACANA premium wet dog food as a topper with my dog's normal kibble. I love that it is high protein, has visible veggies and big chunks of real meat, has low to no odor, and is grain free. With it being summer and us in a heat wave, I also loved that it is an easy way to get my dogs to have more hydration. My dogs LOVED it. They were actively doing circles, lying down, rolling over, and giving air paw as I prepared it, as I think they firmly believed it was human food or a special treat. If you have a fussy eater, or a dog that doesnt drink enough water, this ACANA food is a winner. My dogs and I loved it!

I am amazed at this canned food. It is chicken and my Bernese do not tolerate chicken based products very well, however, I started by using it as a topper, a little at a time. They love it and it has not upset any stomachs! Because of the Texas heat they had all cut back on their food intake but now all finishing their bowl and ready for more. I have also discovered that my Maine Coon's will try to take the food bowls away because they like it too.
