While searching online for something to protect our sofa from cat-related "spills", I found this item. It appeared so much better than other similar items on other websites - and because Chewy has proven to be a great source in the past - I ordered one to try. It's a soft velvety fabric, very substantial, and the anti-slip backing works well enough that we can sit on top and not have to readjust it every time we get up. I would characterize this as a "mat" rather than a throw. It took only 2 days before we were able to test the waterproof properties. (Sigh) Liquid beaded up right away to make cleanup easy. We washed it as directed, and it's good as new. We did not use a dryer, however; and we were disappointed when we received no response from the manufacturer when we asked them to clarify the drying instructions. Overall, a product that lives up to its claims - and at a reasonable price.
