How many calories per can, please?

Answer by ChewyJul 27, 2020
This variety contains approximately 45.51 calories per can (650 Kcal/kg).

Where are the ingredients sourced from? What country and body of water? Farmed of wild?? Thanks

Answer by ChewyMar 21, 2020
Almo Nature is made in Thailand. The tuna is sourced from various fishing areas (Atlantic Ocean / Pacific Ocean/ Indian Ocean/and other seas), and is wild caught.

There's no added taurine. Is there enough naturally present in the tuna and shrimp?

Answer by ChewyJun 05, 2019
Tuna and Shrimp are excellent natural sources of taurine.

Can kittens be given this food?

Answer by ChewyJan 05, 2021
This is intended for supplemental feeding only. It should be served daily along with a complete and balanced diet.

My cat is a particularly picky eater. We tried a bunch of different flavors from Almo Nature with her, and Tuna & Shrimp won the contest by a long shot. She always gobbles down this wet food whenever it comes up in the weekly rotation. If your cat is a fan of tuna or shrimp, I highly recommend giving this flavor a chance. Not only does it look like recognizable food but my human nose also didn't wrinkle when catching a whiff upon opening the can.

my cat loves this! I had to go out of town in early October and I took my cat to my mom's house and he wouldn't eat his normal food. She bought tuna (human version) and started feeding him that. (He has NEVER eaten any brand of fishy cat food that I've ever bought him and I didn't think he liked it!) Well. After I came home - he didn't want his normal food anymore - so I bought this because of the similarity to human tuna - and he absolutely loves it!! He gobbles it up immediately every time!!!

As I always say from the outset, pet food reviews have to be subjective - that is, based on how our pets react to a given flavor/brand. Having stated that, we recently began trying a variety of Almo Nature cat foods. As most of you will agree, cats will tend to love a particular flavor/texture for a few months (or weeks for that matter), only to lose interest after that period of time. And then you're left scrambling to find another brand/flavor that they will gravitate to. It's not always easy, and oftentimes, you are left spending quite a bit of cash to experiment with different flavors - not to mention the time involved. As a matter of background info, our cats have always loved the Applaws and Reveal (same company) brands of cat food. But recently, they started backing off their preference for these, so I began looking again. We came upon the Almo Nature brand and began trying different flavors (and textures). Most of the flavors were such that our cats didn't like them at all - in fact, they would only smell the food and then walk away - bummer. Out of the 7 flavors we've tried so far from Almo Nature, this HQS Natural Tuna and Shrimp flavor was the one that my cats would actually eat - even though they never finished what was there. I'd say our cats might finish perhaps, 30% or so of this this particular flavor - which is better than nothing, I suppose. Based on this, I'm giving only a 3 star rating here. As they say, your mileage may vary and your cats may love this flavor big time - nobody is right or wrong here. It's up to our pets to determine.

I don't even see any shrimp in this formula. It looks like just tuna. And the cats (we have 6) do not seem terribly excited about it. Beyond a few licks, they are mostly leaving it on their plates. I think they really prefer people tuna in water which is actually much cheaper than this cat food version. Typically, I would say that just human tuna wouldn't be very good for them long term; However, when I started thinking about it, this tuna from Almo Nature prides itself on being made for humans. And from what I can tell, they don't add anything to it, like Taurine, which cats need. No extra anything. Some of their other flavors might be better, but this one is disappointing. For us, it's a paws down.
