Start by mixing 25% of BLUE with your cat's old food, and gradually increase the proportion of BLUE over the next 14 days.
My old man is 15 years. Have had him on Purina1. He likes that. Thought I would do better for him. He pushed new food aside to get the Purina when I mixed them. Then refused Buffalo for two days until he was starving. Then threw it up. Now stuck with an expensive bag. Back to Purina Senior. Sorry Buffalo.
I think my staff made a mistake and filled my bowl with treats. I've gone from not being able to break up the big pieces of kibble that they served previously (and my bowl was filled with crumbs! It was like being served leftovers constantly. The horror). There is a higher percentage of protein in this food than my last, but less fiber. We'll see how that goes. I have long hair so you can't expect zero hairballs; I don't enjoy them either, but it is what it is. But this new food - I can't get enough of it. It doesn't say "weight control" on the bag so extra servings MUST be ok. Maybe if I make enough noise my staff will appear and give me more.
My thick-furred kitty will not eat the hairball salve, and refused 2 different anti-hairball teats. However, she and her brother, notoriously fussy about dry food, like this chow, and her vomiting episodes have definitely declined.
i bought two new foods for hairball issues that a few of my cats have and one requires hairball food almost entirely. sadly she seems reluctant to eat much of it at all (for her the rating would be 0 stars) but two other cats get this as part of a mix of kibble food and they will eat it but not vigorously. i have one other hairball option from Blue Buffalo to try and hope it will be more appreciated as the ingredients are far better than the Royal Canin Hairball food that is a favorite of all of the cats. i'm sure the food is really good but given the overall response i can't highly recommend it but also it is ok as part of a mix of foods.
This food is terrific for our cats who are mostly indoors. It keeps one of our cats from throwing up and that is highly important to us and to her. I will only buy this food going forward.
Thanks for always getting the products I order to me in a timely manner. Thanks for carrying the Blue Buffalo cat food. My cat loves it!
Thanks to this product as well as NaturVet digestive enzymes with pre & probiotics my senior furbaby very rarely throws up her food & no more hairballs. Yay!
The products are great as always. The shipping was super fast!! Thank you so much Chewy for somehow knew my pet food is running out!
I normally give my cat the blue buffalo 7+ senior food in the purple bag without the indoor hairball control. For some reason that has been out of stock for quite some time so I had to replace it with something I didn’t know what else to give them. Unfortunately this formula did not sit very well with them and they got very sick and threw up for two days until I was able to finally scour town after town to find a bag of the original formula that I use. I swear by blue buffalo and I love the brand, and the ingredients are the same just in different quantities ;unfortunately for some reason this one formula did not sit well with my two. I don’t believe there was an issue with the food I think it was more something to do with my specific cats that it just did not agree with them. I do highly recommend blue buffalo unfortunately I just had a bad experience with this particular flavor .
At 15 and 24 they eat it and that's unusual as they are picky picky picky.
