I have given my corgi this dog food since he was 2. He's now 5. He loved it but just recently, he has refused to eat it. Always pulling it out of anything i mix with it (rice, sweet potatoes, ect...) he started to not eat it if it was all that was in the bowl... I couldn't figure it out and had thought he was sick and had allergies. Took him to the vet no one could figure out why he wasn't eating at home. Finally, after weeks of strugglin, I realized they changed their formula. They used to use a synthetic K vitamin, and here recently its now gotten from vegetables instead. My corgi absolutely hates veggies i can't get him to eat them raw except for a selective few. It's no wonder he hates this food now. I'm gonna try a different flavor in hopes of staying with this brand because I have never had any issues with them until now.
I switched 5 of my dogs over to this from from Nutro Ultra figuring I could save a few dollars. I ended up with 1 of these dogs having kidney issues so tried to get some information on dry matter basis.... not as fed basis directly from the company. I spoke with 3 different people, 2 on the phone 1 via chat but they could not find any of this information available to the public. They could only give me the range of percentages on as fed basis so 1 dog definitely had to be removed. 2 of the 4 remaining dogs got horrible gas and I mean horrible so I then decided to look into another dry food and we are now trying Nature's Logic and the gas for the 2 dogs has since stopped. The dogs did enjoy the food and they are still on the canned food but once we are out sadly may have to move to another canned product since I can get no information on DMB on any of the company owned food. I do not agree with high sodium content on any dog food even of your dog is healthy and this food could be high. My sister tried this food as well as they have no chicken in their food but he dog also suffered major gas issues. We may switch over to Purina as the company can supply all information for the youger healthier dogs. My other dogs are Cushings dog Tiki(High sodium not for eveyone) Weruva canned Kidney dog move to Weruva canned and KD dry Urine issue dog CD dry and canned dog foods till I get info needed but may be able to use weruva I would recommend this food if your dog has no medical issues, young side but I would rotate food with another brand
Gunther, our 8 year old Mini Schnauzer, had been happy with his former food for years. Bur, the formula apparently changed, and his mouth and beard became stained reddish brown from the last bag. We researched new food options and found American Journey Chicken and Brown Rice. He loves it, adapted well to it, and the beard discoloration is going away. He seems to have better bowel regularity also. Thanks so much!
We have switched from Grain Free back to food with Grains, per our Vet's recommendation. Since we have been feeding American Journey Grain Free, he suggested staying with American Journey and just changing to the with grains. The delivery was almost overnight. Chewy is always the best!!
I have fed my dogs American Journey brand food for years, without a problem. However, when I decided to switch flavors and try this one, both of my dogs hated it and refused to eat it! I tried for a week, but neither one would eat it!
Chewy has always been a great company providing the best and fast service. If something does go wrong like the delivery service doesn't do their job right Chewy steps right in and corrects it. They never leave you hanging and always acknowledge when they know a family part has passed on. What company do you know that is that caring! They are the BEST!
Decided that after a year of picking up the hard little pellets off the floor and the month over month price increases, it was time to switch from Blue Buffalo wilderness for my greyhound. As it is now $80 for a 28lb bag and my doggo wasn't enthusiastic about it anyways. Given the price point and formula I tried this brand, knowing its the store brand for chewy and my dog LOVES it. As does her stomach. The switch was a breeze doing a 50/50 split old/new. I tried the matching canned food and it was also a hit.
I have been feeding this dog food for years (6 or so). While the price has significantly increased, I can appreciate the fact that quality has not been sacrificed. I have a 16 year old 18 pound Jack Russell mix on this food and can attribute her vitality to this food. Our male Jack Russell lived to 18 and ate this food (with the wet variety) for many years and also believe he would not have lived as long or as healthy as he did if he were fed a sub-par food during his senior years. Now, our 1 year old 25 pound terrier mix has been eating this food since he was about 6 months old and loves it. The size kibble works well for them. I just wish the bag was resealable for storage. It takes the two of them about 6 weeks to go through a 28 pound bag. My 7 year old daughter even made a "new" bed for our old gal out of the last Chewy box and a blanket. It is her new favorite bed.
