The following daily feeding recommendations show a suggested amount of food based upon the age and weight of your puppy/dog. Because many factors such as breed, activity level, environment and more can influence the amount of food your dog/puppy requires, American Natural Premium suggests that you adjust your feeding amounts to maintain a healthy body condition. To ensure your dog's good health, see your veterinarian regularly. Gestating and lactating femals may require 2-4 times more food and spayed or neutered dogs may require less food.
When switching to an American Natural Premium Formula, a gradual transition is recommended, but not required. Start by adding a small amount of American Natural Premium pet food to your dog's current diet while reducing the amount of the old diet. Increase the amount of American Natural Premium for 7 - 10 days until the transition is complete. For sensitive dogs, we recommend a 10-14 day transition.

Dig likes the product and it aids her in relieving constipation.
We have three dogs across the age range of one and a half to 15 years old. Our middle dog has been allergic to poultry since she was just a puppy. We have tried a variety of foods, but without a doubt this is the one that all of the dogs like the most and is gentlest on their stomachs. We’ve had problems with loose stools in the past, and no more with this food. The only part that’s challenging about it, is that if chewy is out of it, it isn’t available at any of our local stores, so I just make sure to keep an additional small bag in the pantry to use as a buffer if that ever happens. Have recommended this to several friends, all with very good results as well.
Magnus can't have any chicken products at all. This food has none listed in the INGREDIENTS . He didn't hesitate to eat it, and loves it.
She likes it. It's a little greesy to the touch, sticks together slightly. She likes it. I BELIEVE it's a healthier choice for her, too. Chicken free, still has grains, which put weight on my other dog but worth her, I feel grain free puts weight on her. Each dog is different just as each person is.
We have been feeding a chicken puppy food and found out our babies were allergic to chicken. I reached out to ANP to find out what I should switch them to. ANP said to try there Lamb and Rice because it was made for all life stages and has absolutely no chicken in it. I love that this food is made in Wisconsin USA and the ingredients are from local farmers. I also love that they don't spend a lot on marketing and that they focus on their ingredients. They offer premium food at an affordable price. I love this food and it has worked great for my babies with sensitive tummies.
My dog is a 100lb German Shephard... and at first he seemed to like this food, but now if this is all I offer he WILL NOT eat it. I don't know if its the flavor or something in the food. He will literally go days without eating... but if I give him a raw steak or raw chicken breast he will go to town...Going to try the same brand but different flavor... see what happens.
We are in the process of switching over to ANP lamb/rice from a chicken based food due to possible allergies, and our 145lb Rottie loves it!! He eats the ANP in his dish first before his old food, ha! We’re hoping once transitioned over, the itching & licking will go away. ANP is lower in kcals too, so its a win on taste and nutrition all around!
Our girl has allergies to something and was trying to find a food that contained NO chicken. I found this. It's a high quality food with no recalls. Her stools are firm and small, and she is so excited for meal time.
First off, I have to say I opened that bag, and I wanted to eat it. Smells like veggie soup. I let my cat sniff and he ate a piece, so we all know its really good and smells human grade. 2nd, our 4-month-old Golden, who we found out is completely allergic to Chicken. No matter where I turned, every recommendation we got had chicken in their ingredients until I found ANP, Lifesaver. I switched my pup to your brand yesterday mixed in with her Diamond puppy brand, and she left behind the diamond. We have tried to find the right food since she came home 2 months ago since then she has had dia., itched like no other, had constant scabs from itching so much, she gained weight but had upset tummy until I started with your brand. Now it's formed and doesn't smell like something died. Lastly, suggestion: Will you make a Cat food that is only Lamb or Salmon because I am very sure my cat would gobble it all up and I would definitely buy it because I was sad as you only have chicken for cats and no other flavors. Thank you.
My poopy was having intermittent diarrhea with chicken based products. We switched her to this food. She gobbles it down. Usually she is a grazer. Everything has been great so far.
