Helpful Tips from the Pros

Prep Your Pet

Always wash, dry, and brush your pet’s coat before grooming for best results.

Change Blades Easily

Turn clipper off to take the blade off. Place new blade on blade hinge and turn the tool on before snapping the blade in place.

Stay Cool and Sharp

Keep an extra blade on hand to swap out during heavy grooming and use Cool Care Plus often.

Lubricate Blades

Regular blade maintenance aids optimal performance—always point the blade down when oiling.

I purchased these as a gift to myself. My old ones are prob 10 years old and still work very well trimming my 4 shih tzus. I tried these new burgandy ones on 1.22.25 using both 10 and 7 blades. Something is wrong...like the motor has no power. The tzu has thin hair and it was not long. Very disappoi

Is this a brushless motor?

Do I need to get the cooling care spray even I am planning to use with Andis 9pcs small comb set? Does the blade get hot that even through the plastic comb, would it be hot for a dog?

Answer by ChewyFeb 03, 2019
Due to the high-speed nature of Andis clippers, please check for blade heat often, especially on close cutting blades. If blades are too hot, dip the blades only into Andis Blade Care Plus or apply Andis Cool Care Plus and then Andis Clipper Oil. If you have a detachable blade unit, you can change your blade in order to maintain a comfortable temperature; using multiple blades of the same size is popular among groomers.

Will the Andis Magnectic combs fit this clipper?

Answer by ChewyJan 22, 2018
This clippers works will all Andis Universal Magnetic comb sets and all UltraEdge, CeramicEdge and ShowEdge blades, as well as Oster A-5 blades.

It was supposed to come with a 10 blade and a 7fc. I hadn’t opened it as I gave it to my son as a gift for cutting his dog’s hair. When he opened it on Sunday there wasn’t another blade in the box or the outer box.

Defective- skipping during grooming

Only had a few months and it has started to skip during grooming I have bought dozens of Andis because it’s easy to hold if you have small hands

Perfect hand size

The clippers are not bulky and seem to be working just fine, I changed the blades to ceramic. I shave Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso adults, the motor doesn’t sound too

I have had these for 8 months and have used them several times for my 2 dogs. They have paid for themselves over the cost of a professional groomer. I'm just a dog mom and have watched videos and some trial and error, I can say these clippers work great. I use the cooling spray and oil often. I'm so pleased with my purchase.

Not for Goldendoodles

I hate to give a bad score, but I want to be honest. I believe this is a good clipper for some, maybe most, dogs, but not for dogs with double coats like Goldendoodles

I hate to give a bad score, but I want to be honest. I believe this is a good clipper for some, maybe most, dogs, but not for dogs with double coats like Goldendoodles. Our dogs coat is too thick for the blades to get through it wasn't time for his next professional grooming. We realilze that we should have purchased the brand that our groomer uses daily with Goldendoodles.

Initial Impression

First of all these clippers were able to run thru my Sheepadoodle's hair terrifically. Before these, I bought some cheaper $60 clippers that cut absolutely nothing

First of all these clippers were able to run thru my Sheepadoodle's hair terrifically. Before these, I bought some cheaper $60 clippers that cut absolutely nothing. So, when I decided to invest in a better pair I did my research and these performed extremely well. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because it doesn't come with any guards. I just assumed they would, I guess I have to buy those separately...? I'm not a groomer, just a dog mom that wants to save money instead of taking my dog to the groomer. There's definitely a learning curve to this but I'm sure the more I do it the better I'll become. Confession Time: I don't regularly brush my dog and so she ends up with mats here and there throughout her coat. I highly recommend buying a good conditioner and demating comb and trying to work through your dogs knots as much as possible. It'll make the clippers work a lot better.

HORRIBLE!!!!

Blade was dull. Look at this mess it created on my cat. Choppy and tons of bald spots. Will be returning. Do not recommend.

Pretty good

Also bought a 1/2 steel Andis blade rather than a clipper guard which seems to work well enough. Clipper does heat up pretty quickly so you might have to toggle

Also bought a 1/2 steel Andis blade rather than a clipper guard which seems to work well enough. Clipper does heat up pretty quickly so you might have to toggle between your scissor work and blade. Liked this much better than the Wahl km10 which was too industrial for my 18 pound Whoodle. The blades on this are much easier to snap in and off. Nice size. Easy on the hands. Not noisy.

It cuts the hair good

It is a good clipper and does a good job. The only thing it is heavy in the on off switch is hard.
