So far so good
By debcorrine on Feb 19, 2021
My 10 year old pit mix had a life threatening bout of pancreatitis last year. The vet put her on a low fat prescription food. I was unhappy that the first listed ingredient was brewers rice and there was not much to recommend the remaining top ingredients either. In addition, I could not sustain the high cost. I researched low fat more affordable foods and after reading the reviews from other dog owners whose pets had pancreatitis I decided to try this brand. She's also had a life long problem with throwing up bile so to combat this her food is divided into 3 meals daily. One meal includes a 1/4 cup of chicken breast for extra protein. Needless to say she scarfs that one right down, however she My 10 year old pit mix had a life threatening bout of pancreatitis last year. The vet put her on a low fat prescription food. I just ordered a second 25lb bag because she seems to be doing very well, with no pancreatic episodes and no throwing up either. Her weight is holding steady but if she needs to lose a few more pounds pending our next visit to the vet I will simply cut back on the quantity. … more

Recommend this excellent food
By Mari on Feb 23, 2021
My lab which I had rescued from the shelter 3 years ago was getting very overweight and was starting to bother him and he was having loose stools. I changed him to Annameat low-fat dog food. He is done very well does not have loose stools is not hungry all the time.I did a lot of research into companies and how their food was made and where they got their ingredients from and this company stood far above the other companies and what I found. I would definitely recommend this food

Excellent Food
By LFPV on Mar 1, 2021
I and the dog are very pleased with Annamaet. More recently I have been looking for a low fat/low calorie dog food for my aging dog who is putting on a couple pounds. I can't vouch for whether it's good for losing weight.. too soon to tell but at least my dog likes it and Mom likes it cause Annamaet puts out a good product in general. I only wish there were more food choices for Senior or Overweight dogs.

A great alternative to low-fat prescription food
By Kathleen on Mar 27, 2021
My dog loves this. My vet recommended that I research nonprescription dog foods with less than 11% maximum fat to save money. I found this one and it's terrific and my dog loves it. She's pretty small but can still crunch on this kibble.

My sweet girl, Tawny, almost 8, has more energy, brighter eyes and is more alert and playful than she ever has been and the only thing I've changed is moved to this food. So happy!

This is a healthy well balanced dog food and fits well for my cavalier King Charles spaniels that we’re getting a little overweight. This food is perfect for stabilizing the gut area and dogs do very well. No allergies and taste good for dogs .

This is the best food that I have found for my pancreatic pup. Very happy with the ingredients and very happy that Chewy has it. Just wish the biscuits weren’t always sold out!

My 9yr old beagle/lab baby had a very bad case of pancreatitis two summers ago. I searched and read many reviews and came across this Lean kibble. He hasn’t had any problems since.

Great dry dog food, small kibbles. My dogs likes this food. It’s a bit expensive though.

He eats it!
By Mars on Sep 15, 2020
My dog eats it, but he usually eats everything. I do top it with another soft food as my vet doesn't really think grain free is good for dogs hearts. My dog has Cushings and always trying to find the right food for him. Hoping he looses a few pounds.
