    Helps keep a healthy pond

    By on

When I first opened my fish pond I had problems with algae and sometimes disease. Since using this with every water change (3/4 water removal) I have had clear water and healthy fish. I have a pump, but only need to change the filter every other month or so. We have a canopy over the pond to keep the temperature from getting too hot and that, combined with the salt has cut down greatly on algae.

    Pond Salt for Conditioning

    By on

This product is indispensable for maintaining an healthy pond. We have a 400 gallon pond with cascades in an interior atrium garden that has been stocked with fishes and running since 2000. With each water change, besides a dechlorinator, we add the pond salt and also occasionally add some pond salt to keep the fishes healthy. Chewey DID pack three large and heavy jars without any packing material, loose in a box that was way too large for the contents, but by a miracle, it arrived with them banging around but undamaged.

    Highly recommend

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I have used this in my pond for about 8 years. We have 8 goldfish in our outdoor pond and they love it. Its like a spa to them. Never have i lost a fish nor have any of them had parasites, ick, or bacterial infections. I credit this product to that. Just remember the salt is not filtered out so dont overdose. Every time i do a partial water change i add more or if we have a heavy rainfall here in Ohio, the pond will overflow so ill add more then.

I always add pond salt after a water exchange in my pond. The koi love it. It aids in healthy gill function. Even fresh water fish need a little salt in their life.

Excellent preventative care for your fish

    By on Top 100 Contributor

Pond/aquarium salt can be a very beneficial addition to your aquatic environments. Tap water normally removes almost all minerals; adding some of those minerals back to the water will be beneficial for gill function and preventative care. Plus, many fish diseases can be treated by increasing the salt content of the water, in addition to temperature changes or additional treatments. Just be sure to monitor the amount of salt in your tank, with a test kit - and only add salt when replacing a large quantity of water. Tanks with live plants must use lower concentrations (or the plants will die).
