Our dog loves this. She learned how to use in an afternoon. We suction cup the button to the fridge and put the base in another room. We will chop carrots to keep it a little healthier.
This was an amazing product for single use. Now the remote stopped working. Tried everything including changing the batteries even though they were new. Would love to exchange, but no longer in stock. Sad, because the pups caught on and really enjoyed it,
Just not for my pets. I have 4 cats and none of them could grasp the concept that they have to press the button to get treats. They acted like stepping on the button was like stepping into water. and the sound that it makes when you hit the button scared my skittish cats. It's a great concept and an affordable way to accomplish the task so I wouldn't tell anyone they shouldn't buy it. Just be prepared to watch it sit and take up space through no fault of the manufacturer. Please do not let this review deter you from trying.
The noises the button makes are LOUD, alarming our dog, and are not able to be turned off. The treat dispenser is also hit or miss sometimes.
This is such a fun thing for our mini aussie to do. Took her about 15 minutes to learn to use it. Unfortunately, after about 2 weeks of playing with it, the ball does not turn completely. Sometimes it takes her 4 touches on the ball to get a full turn of the treat dispenser. Very disappointed in the performance of this toy. There are not instructions on what to do if this happens. Better instructions are needed on how to operate the dispenser.
We adopted a young, high-energy-breed rescue with extreme light sensitivity and a permanent injury where she can still walk, but can’t do a lot of running/hiking. It makes getting her energy out difficult. This has been the best purchase ever for her. She learned how to use it very quickly. After a few days, to increase the difficulty and time spent on this activity, I started hiding the button in different areas of the house multiple times so she has to search for the button to press it for her food. It has helped stimulate her brain and enrich her life so much. I highly recommend this!
So much fun for my flatcoat. She figured out what to do after a little coaching. I have her play with it 20-30 mins twice a day and she enjoys it immensely since she is so food-driven. Just make sure to put it away when done since they wouldn’t want to let go of it and would start chewing on the button once treats are no longer coming out! Lol!
We’ve had this for less than a week and it has already become a favorite for our one year old golden retriever. She pounces on the button (we use the yellow holder instead of the suction cup) for her meals to dispense. It tires her out running back and forth, and she gets her food - it’s a win/win. It took her only a few minutes to catch on. This would be great to feed meals from on a rainy day! Things of note: - I would not recommend leaving your pet unsupervised with this as ours has managed to pounce so hard on the button, it knocks the batteries out of the back - You can generally control how much is dispensed, but I have it set to a fairly small opening and it could result in zero to six pieces of kibble coming out. It’s a bit inconsistent, but it doesn’t bother us or her. Overall, while it isn’t perfect, it’s absolutely worth every penny and I’d highly recommend!
I have a 2.5-year-old Australian Shepherd, who is incredibly smart and active. I bought this toy to keep her busy and provide mental stimulation while I'm at class or doing homework. Within a day, and the help of some peanut butter, she figured out how to work it. Would recommend to anyone who has a busy minded dog!
Pros: This is a really fun activity for our dog. He has to use his brain and we place the button and the treat distributor far apart so he also gets a little exercise. The price is reasonable for what you’re getting. I’ve seen a lot of similar products with very fancy cameras costing hundreds of dollars so I was happy I found this. Cons: it’s not perfect. The distribution of treats isn’t consistent and sometimes it doesn’t pour out any treats at all which is challenging for the conditioning aspect of this toy. As the treats get low this problem usually occurs and I end up having to dump the treats myself.
